Coming soon! Come experience some embodied art-making with me.

The spring virtual Expressive Therapies Summit is offered in Pacific Time. I am excited to connect with some creative folks on the west coast. If you are on the east coast, you can certainly come too! Just double-check the time 😁

Dealing with my conference "hangover" through visual processing - both words & images.

I always seem to struggle with processing and integrating all the fabulous information from conferences as I swiftly transition back into seeing clients.

I know, I know, it is TOTALLY SHOCKING that the answer just might be in making ART. 🎨

So so so grateful for the opportunity to present again at with my friend and colleague, Alby Gyimah-Boadi (). I feel privileged to both share knowledge AND learn from other incredible psychotherapists.

These are just a few images that, honestly, do not do justice to my amazing experience at PNS 2026. I am admittedly quite awful at remembering to take photos at events. On the plus side, this means I am being present in the experience and truly soaking it in!

Special thanks to all those who participated in our experiential session and shared their creative process within our amazing group!

Stay tuned. 📺
Calibrating.

I have been thinking a lot about how I want to show up in the social media space - which is also why I haven't posted much in a while. Real life focuses have felt more important, and I imagine that they will continue to feel that way. But I would like to find a way to be present here without drowning in the world of the algorithm.

I am figuring it out. With art, of course. 🙂🎨

Tiny art to organize a multitude of thoughts and feelings. Sometimes, all you need is a little painter's tape to make little containers for all the little things. 🎨

Nov 9th! I am presenting a little 2-hour introduction on using art in therapy for non-Art Therapists.

This workshop is for mental health professionals who...
➡️ have been interested in using art with clients, but don't know where to start.
➡️ have tried using art with clients but then got stuck or lost in the creative process.
➡️ are curious about art therapy and have wondered when clients should be referred to a trained Art Therapist.

I'm thrilled to invite you to a free Clinical Conversation hosted by Trauma Therapist Institute:
Bringing Your Creative Self to Therapeutic Work.

This isn't your typical lecture: it's a space to explore how creativity, intuition, and authenticity can deepen our clinical work. Whether it’s art, movement, metaphor, or just showing up more fully as you, this conversation is for any therapist craving a more alive, connected practice.

It’s totally free, and I’d love to have you there.

Round Two of Art Therapy Book Club!

We will be reading Healing Trauma with Guided Drawing. Is this book in your stack of things to read already? Are you interested in joining and reading with us?

Things to know: this book club is low-key, and low pressure. Didn't finish the book? No biggie! Come to our virtual meeting anyway. We typically have a midway meeting and a final end of book meeting. Meetings include discussion and art making. We also use the app Fable to continue discussions and observations about the book between meetings.

Chalk Fest happened a few weeks ago. I've been busy being a human away from socials, so I hadn't made a post about it. But here it is now!

I took the opportunity to participate in Chalk Fest as a way to bring Art Therapy to the attention of my community. There are still so many people who do not know what Art Therapy is or how powerfully healing it can be. As Art Therapists, we are responsible for promoting our field and educating others about what we do.

Chalk Fest was an amazingly FUN way to make art, interact with the community, and share information about Art Therapy. I would love to find more ways to connect through creativity.

Art Therapists, how are you reaching out to your community about our field? How would you like to connect with the community?

Small art for small moments.

Finding time for my own art practice has been a challenge between the demands of my Art Therapist identity and of my Mom identity (not to mention all the other things outside of that which also make me me!). I am trying to embrace the smallness that can hold art and creativity. Small creations, small amounts of time, and improvisation in the moment.
