When Change Doesn’t Feel Good

Change is often framed as an opportunity for growth, but let’s be real—not all change feels good, fair, or even productive. Some shifts catch us off guard, disrupt our sense of security, or challenge us in ways we never wanted. Policies, decisions, and circumstances beyond our control can shake us—but they don’t have to break us.

Here’s the encouraging part: even when change feels like it’s working against you, you still have power. Power to respond, power to protect your peace, power to move forward on your terms. Maybe this moment is teaching patience or the realization that you’re stronger than you thought.

If you’re navigating change that doesn’t feel good right now, give yourself grace. It’s okay to feel it, process it, and move through it at your own pace. Growth doesn’t always look like progress—sometimes, it’s simply resilience.

Even in tumultuous times, you are still moving onward. ➡️➡️➡️

Dr. King reminded us that faith means taking the first step, even when we can’t see the whole staircase. Today, let’s honor his legacy by asking ourselves: What steps are we ready to take?

Whether it’s fostering equity, deepening our understanding, or growing personally, each step forward matters. Let’s keep moving onward. ”

🌟 Happy Monday! 🌟
A new week is here, and with it, an opportunity to focus on intentional beginnings. Starting fresh isn’t about changing everything—it’s about making small, meaningful shifts that move you forward with purpose.

Let’s approach this week with clarity and intention. What’s one small step you can take today to move onward? 💛

As the year comes to a close, it’s natural to reflect on what went well and what didn’t go as planned. It’s easy to feel discouraged when things don’t unfold as we hoped, but those moments don’t define your path forward. Negative thoughts and feelings may arise, but they don’t have to dictate your next steps.

Instead, you can use this time to refocus and take one small, meaningful step forward. Progress isn’t about perfection—it’s about resilience. Let go of what holds you back, embrace the lessons, and move forward with intention. The year isn’t over yet—let’s make it count.

The holidays bring so much joy, but they can also bring a range of emotions. Starting this week with intentionality means giving ourselves the same kindness we extend to others.

✨ Pause
✨ Reflect
✨ Be present

How will you nurture your needs this week? Remember: self-care and rest are gifts too. "

Life can feel overwhelming when we go through the motions. Starting each day with intention helps us regain control, align with our goals, and find meaning in the little things. This week, treat your mornings like a blank canvas and see how purpose transforms your outcomes.

How do you plan to set the tone for your week? Let’s reflect and grow together! 🌟

Did you know that around 5% of adults in the U.S. experience Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) each year? That’s approximately 10 million Americans who feel the impact of this seasonal shift. Another 10-20% may experience a milder form of the “winter blues.” Women are 4x more likely to experience SAD than men.

At Your Life Onward, we’re dedicated to raising awareness and supporting those affected by SAD. Simple steps like spending time outdoors, staying connected, and seeking support can make a meaningful difference. Let’s work together to bring light to the winter months. 🌞

Honoring veterans means more than recognizing their service—it’s about understanding the challenges they face long after their duty ends. This Veteran’s Day, let’s focus on the lasting impact of their sacrifices and find meaningful ways to support them in their journey. We can make a difference through awareness of the long-lasting effects of trauma or by expressing our gratitude in everyday interactions.

Today, we recognize the importance of mental health in our daily lives. It’s a reminder that caring for our minds is just as essential as caring for our bodies. In my work, I have seen firsthand how prioritizing mental well-being can empower individuals to navigate life’s challenges with resilience and clarity.
As we observe this day, I encourage everyone to reflect on how we can continue to foster personal and professional environments that prioritize mental wellness. Small actions, such as offering support to a colleague, taking time for self-care, or seeking help when needed, can create a lasting impact.
At Your Life Onward, I’m dedicated to helping individuals embrace change and confidently move forward, knowing they have the tools to support their mental well-being. Today, let’s continue the conversation about mental health and make sure no one feels they have to go through it alone.
