Does this resonate for you?
Have you survived a “lifequake"?
Bruce Feiler, author of the book called "Life Is in the Transitions: Mastering Change in a Non Linear Age," did some research on life transitions.
After interviewing hundreds of people about their stories, he found that, on average, a major change in an individual's life occurs every 12 to 18 months.
And the really significant ones—what Feiler calls “lifequakes”—seem to happen between three to five times in each person’s life.
He goes on to explain that some lifequakes are voluntary and joyful.
They could include getting married, having a child, getting A promotion, or buying a home.
Others are involuntary, unpleasant, and unwelcome, such as losing a job, a loved one, or managing a newly diagnosed life-threatening illness.
The point of his book is, transitions are a natural part of life.
Building resilience - physically, emotionally, and mentally - through lifestyle, habits and mindset is not only wise, it's necessary.
With it, one can successfully navigate these lifequakes with more ease, whatever they may be.
The ability to adapt to change is without question an invaluable life skill.
