Monday Motivation 💪🏼
This is Brooks, the nephew of one of our PTs, Jackie. At the end of 2020 Brooks and Jackie were chosen to participate in a research study to help gather data about the new Anni’s Activity Center. This versatile chair promotes strengthening with pre-gait activities and Brooks has been loving it.

The first picture is from 3 weeks ago, when Brooks was first introduced to the chair and required complete assistance and cueing to achieve standing at the t-bar.

The second video is from last night, when he began transitioning from sit to stand (and reverse) independently!

Keep up the awesome work, Brooks!

✨Therapist Spotlight✨This week’s spotlight is on Beverly. Read below to learn more about her:

Beverly works as both a pediatric therapist and orthopedic therapist. She especially loves early intervention because assisting children in reaching their developmental milestones and improving their independence with everyday activities is extremely rewarding. In her spare time, Beverly loves to dance, try new restaurants, travel, and spend time with her family and friends. Since the start of the pandemic Beverly has spent much of her free time learning a new language!

Check out one of our PT’s ideas for helping kids stay on task and motivated!

“Do you have a child who has difficulty staying on task during sessions? For kids that aren’t easily redirected, I create a visual schedule for them and it can work wonders!

I swap out the activity options depending on the child’s age and therapy goals. Once we have a bank of appropriate activities, I choose 3 or 4 and then allow the child to choose remaining activities that they’d like to do. They are motivated when they get to move pictures to the ‘All Done’ side as they complete them!”
