Reggie Hubbard A place for healing, inspiration and motivation in these interesting times.

I haven’t said much publicly about what’s happening in the world right now. And that’s not likely to change any time soon.

But a very human interaction I had this afternoon compelled me to share this story as illustrative of my thoughts and how I’m moving in the world right now.

May peace be with all of us, in these chaotic times. May the ferocity of deep love arise in this season rife with the nihilism and banality of hate. And may cold wisdom and truth reign over hot takes and lies.

After taking a break for August, the I Am Not OK community meditation practice returns this Thursday evening at 8:15p.

We may feel overwhelmed because we do not allow space for ourselves to be with our thoughts and emotions for whatever reason.

We have few spaces where we can process our thoughts and emotions in loving community.

This practice serves to hold space for people to breathe, be, think, process and find a path toward keeping a light heart in heavy times.

In honor of the recently deceased Joanna Macy, I share this wisdom.

Two weeks ago, the world bid farewell (in this realm) to one of its most courageous and compassionate voices of our time: Joanna Macy — scholar, activist, and root teacher of the work we will explore today, the “Work That Reconnects.”

Join us for a live online interactive program Wednesday, August 6th from 7 - 8pm EST in honor of Joanna Macy’s legacy led by senior yoga teacher Barrie Risman and Work that Reconnects facilitator Lydia Violet Harutoonian. In this powerful workshop, and will introduce The Work That Reconnects, an experiential group process developed by Joanna Macy in the 1970s that is more relevant than ever.

Grounded in deep ecology, systems thinking, and spiritual traditions, this powerful framework helps us remember our essential belonging to the web of life—awakening our creativity, resilience, solidarity, and motivation to act on behalf of a more just and thriving world.

Be inspired by this blessing offered at the opening keynote of the Netroots Nation convention in New Orleans on Thursday evening. Full text of the blessing is here:

In these times of chaos, cruelty and confusion. I wish you peace, love and wisdom.

In these times of hot takes and streams of consciousness, I wish you cold wisdom and discernment.

In these times of intolerable blindness and silence to suffering and harm across the world, I wish you clarity of moral purpose and fierce compassion to find a way to get in the way, or just create a new way altogether. And the grace to mend your broken heart.

In these times of outage and anger, I wish you the wisdom to invest the precious resource of your anger in aims that you seek, rather than investing your anger into more anger which yields a diminishing return - on both you in the short run and the movement in the long run.

In these times of rampant hatred and lies, I wish you a love so deep and a truth so compelling that healing and transformation that we seek and we deserve has no choice but to sprout, blossom and flourish across the fallow fields of our hearts and minds.

Our work is as much mental, physical and spiritual, as it is philosophical and political. Protect the mind, honor the body and nourish the soul.

I wish peace and love to New Orleans - on this 20th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina.

In these times of chaos, cruelty and confusion. I wish you peace, love and wisdom.

This upcoming Thursday evening we will gather again for the virtual, “I am Not Okay, and that’s Okay” community meditation practice.

With all that is happening in the world, we must (re)build the muscle memory of community, compassion and connection - normalizing our expression of what bothers us to make way for healing, transformation and liberation.

You have a gift. Post more before the hipsters ruin it….. that’s what someone told me this morning at after attending this magical Pure Sound to Ground experience last night that had big gongs, thunder, lightening and rainbows (real talk).

Many of you have asked me about why I’ve been relatively quiet lately about the state of the world. The answer: I’m busy creating what comes next.

Get your life right and get to doing the same. Our time is now.
