Job Descriptions for Clerk

• Performs responsible delivery services by correctly identifying supplies, materials, and equipment to be delivered, safely loading those items on the delivery vehicle, safeguarding all items during transit, delivering the items to the correct location, and obtaining the appropriate signature for receipt of the delivered items.

• Updating the property log with required information about inventory items, assisting with the receipt of property items, supplies, materials, and equipment, preparing items for shipment, and storing property items in a safe and efficient manner which facilitates access, accountability, and reduces the likelihood for damage.

• Practices preventive maintenance of delivery vehicles and equipment by performing spot checks of equipment to determine their working condition, cleaning and servicing tools and equipment as directed or specified in the operator’s manual and returning damaged tools and equipment for repair or replacement.

• Helps maintain a safe working environment, thus reducing the likelihood of personal injury or property damage by operating various motor vehicles and delivery vehicles in a safe manner.

• Monitor and report any missing or lost inventory to management and ensure all inventory is in excellent condition

• Provide customer service to customers who may need assistance while setting up displays or otherwise

• Organize and sort items on shelving, bins and displays according to company standards

• Contributes to a work environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for, and development of skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds.

Qualifications for Clerk

• Ability to lift up to 50-75 pounds, as many stockroom items are cumbersome and heavy

• Experience working in a fast-paced sales environment while maintaining attention to detail

• Ability to maintain a high level of physical exertion for extended periods and working primarily while standing

• Ability to problem solve quickly and prioritize daily tasks according to their importance

• Personal accountability and integrity are essential, as a warehouse and delivery clerk has access to valuable inventory

• Experience working safely with stockroom ladders and tools is preferred

• Interpersonal skills are essential, as working as a team is vital to maintaining an organized stockroom
