PSA: Remember this if you donāt remember anything else Iāve ever said. The biggest lesson to learn in this journey called life is the most important thing you can give someone you love is uninterrupted quality time. A safe space to be authentic and true to themselves while being vulnerable with you. No fear of judgement. And no fear that what is shared can or will be used as a weapon. No amount of money, material goods and services or professional success can replace the simple joy of being together, whether itās laughing over silly jokes, a movie, helping a parent or loved one cope with a challenge or a child/grandchild color outside the lines. Sure, work is important, and ambition has its placeābut not at the cost of losing precious time with the people you love and who care for and genuinely love you most.
If you find yourself caught in a whirlwind of constant work, business or pouring all your energy out to others in the name of service while neglecting your own self care ask yourself if itās really about the work, or any of those other to-doās or if youāre avoiding something deeper. Sometimes, the greatest gift you can offer is just being there for yourself, fully present, loving you with an open and forgiving heart.
So hereās to hoping this helps someone who might be struggling with that same tug-of-war. Take a deep breath. Realize your worth doesnāt come from how full your schedule is or how many people you have helped/supported. And rememberātime with self and the people you love is precious. Once itās gone, you canāt get it back.
If this resonated with you, please share it with anyone who might need to hear it. And please do not neglect your self anymore. You never know who else might be silently going through the same or similar challenge. Letās spread this reminder that true love, presence, and balance truly matter most.
PS: True love does not go beneath the heart. And does not require s*x. It can include s*x but never ever requiredšā®ļø.
Be Well~
