At SoXtraFIT we love GOING RED today in celebration of the National Wear Red Day by taking a stand against heart disease in women.
Fun Fact: Did you know that heart disease is the # 1 killer of women killing more than all forms of cancer combined?
The risk factors for heart disease are more prevalent in everyday life than a lot of people realize. That is why self-care is very important for you to live a fit and healthy lifestyle.
Here are of our favorite 3 self-care tips that might help you:
1. Get Screened.
One form of self-care is knowing how your own body is doing and checking in on your own health by visiting your doctor. Get yourself screened for any risk factors and encourage your friends and family to do the same.
2. Be Active.
One of the most effective way to prevent heart disease is physical activity. Get moving and always aim to be more active every day. Get at least 150 minutes per week of moderate intensity aerobic activity or 75 minutes per week of vigorous aerobic activity. It helps a lot.
3. Get Good Quality Sleep.
Sleep is important and you should make it a priority in life. Set a sleeping schedule that works for you and stick to it. It lessens the risk of high blood pressure and heart disease. It makes you feel good, too.
