Earlier this week my dog got hit by a car he went to Friendship Hospital for Animals and got a cast placed on his rear foot. He is currently at FHA for his bandage changes over the weekend and missing snow time with his little human sister. He loves the snow and will not be able to roll and run around in it this year; however I know you all are taking good care of him during the storm!

Meet Cyrus!!! Don’t miss his videos!!! He is a giant marshmallow! And a huge trooper! Cyrus was attacked by a bobcat will defending his housemate... after several days much of the skin on his belly died due to infection. We slowly closed his tissues and got the tissues healthy using a VAC (vacuum Assisted Closure) bandage. It was a long road.... but Cyrus slowly improved! What a difference a couple of months make! Cyrus presented for Friendship Hospital for Animals after an extremely unfortunate run in with a bobcat. He suffered wounds all over his chest and right arm. After just under three months of treatments, we are very happy to report that Cyrus's wounds have healed! We are going to miss him and we could not be more proud of how far he has come.

This crazy kid is Oswald! He got a little too crazy playing and took a tumble. Today he was diagnosed with a salter harris fracture that we will be treating with a splinted bandage.

No matter how big you are, you can still be nervous at the doctor. At Friendship Hospital for Animals, we use Fear Free practices to help relieve those nerves, and sometimes that includes a motivational pep talk before surgery!

PATIENT SPOTLIGHT: Biko the Rhodesian Ridgeback recently visited Friendship Surgical Specialists for a mass removal on his left forelimb. He is a great patient and was extremely brave for his recent bandage removal (even thought it was an optimal time for a quick nap). Biko is known as a world traveler, professional cuddler and Harry Potter enthusiast! We look forward continue on Bikos journey as he will have follow up appointments with Friendship Oncology Department. We love you Biko!
