Psychological support isn’t optional in treatment. There, I said it.

See, GLP-1 medications change a lot, but they don’t change everything. As biology shifts, many people are surprised to find that old emotions, habits and long-held stories about their bodies keep showing up. These are the things we don’t talk about enough.

Taking a GLP-1 is more than a medical decision. It’s an emotional and behavioral transition, too. Learning how to eat with new signals, navigating identity changes, managing fear of regain, and rebuilding self-trust are all part of the real work. Curious to learn more about how the mental health side fits in? I wrote more about it here: https://www.healthpsychologypartners.com/articles/glp-1-medication

Or, if you are looking for a support group for GLP-1 users, we have that coming too! https://www.healthpsychologypartners.com/therapy-groups-workshops

Discover why emotional and behavioral support is essential when using GLP-1 medications like semaglutide or tirzepatide. Learn how therapy can help navigate body changes, identity shifts, and long-term success.

Almost 7 hours of waiting to leave for for the event and I wasn’t able to get there in time. DC had a snowstorm☃️ (meaning we had about an inch) and it brought the city to a halt. But! One of the ways our small business supports our community is by offering free educational sessions throughout the year. Each team member volunteers their time to educate the community on areas of stress reduction, sleep, and other health outcomes.

Don’t forget that receiving your care from us is a way to support small local businesses. There are so many large therapy groups funded by VCs with a lot of money for advertising so it can be easy to forget the small practices that have been giving back to our community for nearly 10 years.
But we’re still here and going strong!
