A: Frequency depends on your child’s needs. Some children attend 1–2 sessions per week, others may need more intensive support.

🔹 Q: What’s the difference between OT and PT?

Thanksgiving is a time for family, food, and gratitude, but for children with feeding challenges, it can also be a source of stress. At Skills on the Hill, our pediatric feeding therapy services are designed to help children navigate mealtime difficulties, reduce anxiety around food, and build positive eating habits.

Tips for a Stress-Free Thanksgiving Meal:

Involve Your Child in Meal Prep: Let them help wash vegetables or set the table to increase familiarity with the foods they'll encounter.

Offer a "Safe" Food: Include at least one food your child is comfortable with to reduce mealtime anxiety.

Create a Positive Mealtime Environment: Keep the atmosphere relaxed and avoid pressuring your child to eat.

Use Sensory Play Before the Meal: Engage your child with Thanksgiving-themed sensory activities to familiarize them with different textures and smells.

Remember: Progress in feeding therapy is individual. Even if your child doesn't try new foods this Thanksgiving, celebrating small victories and maintaining a positive approach can lead to long-term success.

If you're seeking support for your child's feeding challenges, our team is here to help. Contact us today to learn more about our pediatric feeding therapy services.

Assistive technology is more than just gadgets, it’s a bridge to independence for children with diverse needs. From adaptive keyboards and speech-to-text devices to mobility aids and specialized seating, assistive technology can help children participate fully at school, home, and in play.

At Skills on the Hill, our Speech, OT and PT teams assess each child’s unique abilities and challenges to recommend tools that enhance learning, communication, and physical function. Using these technologies, children can gain confidence, complete tasks more independently, and reach their full potential. Technology plus therapy equals empowerment! 🌟
