Community, connection, and the next generation.
At our Bloomingdale studio, we recently had the honor of welcoming 11th grade students from Dunbar High School—the first public high school for African Americans in the United States, with a legacy of shaping generations of Black excellence.
Led by AJ Custard—an attorney and Yoga District teacher—students stepped into the studio not just for a yoga class, but to connect, reflect, and discover new possibilities. AJ led a 45-minute vinyasa flow, followed by an open and honest conversation—creating space for students to see themselves reflected, ask questions, and begin to imagine what a future in wellness could look like for them.
This is what community looks like to us at Yoga District—connecting, supporting, and creating space for what’s possible. Our work doesn’t stop at the studio doors.
We’re grateful to share this space with our community—on and off the mat.
