That’s a Wrap on 2025! And what a meaningful year it’s been for Hayley Hurst and me!

This year reaffirmed exactly why we joined forces: finding “the one” shouldn’t be a lonely quest. Life can be full on its own, but the right partner in your corner changes everything. In love and in business.

Business trips can look glamorous from the outside.

Flights. Hotels. Client dinners. The shiny badge. The one time my name was on the screen of the black car airport pick-up. 😉

But when you’re single, work travel can feel lonely.

I spent years traveling solo for work.

The middle-of-nowhere hotel rooms.
Quiet dinners for one, which could be a "bed picnic" with snacks from the office. hashtag
Colleagues with kids gushing about the thrill of a night alone in a hotel room.

Even surrounded by people, I often felt separate.

Questions about a husband or children came up by default.

This week, I’m heading to a matcmakers conference and my husband is joining. My first work trip with a partner. 👫

It feels exciting and strange all at once.
It has me reflecting on all the years I traveled as a single person and how so many of us carry that same quiet weight on the road.

🗓One year ago this week, I took the biggest leap of my career—and my heart.

I said goodbye to decades of business attire and boardroom rhythms (but not the lessons learned there!) to pursue something that had been building for years: launching Lisa Ratner Matchmaking & Coaching.

In just 12 months, I've

💟 Discovered the joy in coaching clients to date with intention
💟 Embraced every twist, challenge, and triumph along the way
💟 And am reminded daily that relationships are Everything

Reflecting on the past year, I’m filled with deep gratitude... for every early client who trusted me to guide their journey, and for each colleague, collaborator, friend, and family member who cheered me on. Wedding season is upon us… again.

And if you’re riding solo, that invite can stir up a lot of feelings.

It just published a new blog about what it’s like to navigate weddings as a single guest—something I did for many years. At first, the singles table was a blast (flirting over hors d'oeuvres? Yes, please). But as the years went on, it started to feel more like a social penalty box in the back corner of the reception hall.
