: πŸ’‘Did you know that babies start learning how to talk from inside the womb?
From around 23 weeks, babies start to hear sounds and begin recognizing the mothers voice.
Though they won't start talking until around year 1, learning language starts from the beginning.

For a lot of women, the postpartum period can be a difficult time. There are so many things to juggle: breastfeeding, caring for an infant, and adjusting to being a new parent. You’re feeling like your old self isn’t coming back. The pressure to get back into shape, the stress of work, the lack of sleep; it’s enough to make anyone feel overwhelmed.

Pregnancy changes everything – inside and out! So when you’re in that postpartum period where nothing is making sense anymore, take solace in knowing that you’re not alone.

➑️ It is your birthing experience + you have the right to take medical recommendations + analyze them them to make the best decision for you, your body + your baby.

During pregnancy + childbirth there are so many medical decisions being made that it's important to understand informed consent.
Ultimately, as the patient, you have the right to make informed decisions about what is done to your body.
If there is no medical emergency + neither you nor your baby are in danger, here are some things to ask yourself before proceeding in making a medical decision:

➑️ What are the benefits of the medical suggestion?
➑️ What are the risks or side effects?
➑️ Are there alternatives to the suggestion?
➑️ What is your birther intuition saying?
➑️ What might happen if no decision is made at that time?

-- MOTHERHOOD ❀️

" Motherhood will turn you every which
way you could imagine.
You'll feel more emotions in a day than
you ever cared to feel.
You can go from thankfulness, to
pulling your unwashed hair out. in 3
seconds flat.
You will do things you said you would
never do. and your children will do
things you said your child would never
do.
You will be humbled. embarrassed.
sweaty. unsure, and thankful
you will wonder how so much love
could fit in your heart and then you
will be smacked in the face with a sippy
cup.
You will be tired for next million years,
and you won't love every minute of
being a mother... That's normal, and you're still a good
mom.
You'll cry tears of joy. and you'll cry
tears of sadness and frustration. you will google more than you ever knew someone could google.
Motherhood will be more than you
could ever imagine, and nothing you
could have ever dreamed.
It will break you over and over again." - Unknown via Pinterest

Did you know that relactation is possible?
If your milk has dried up but you want to start breastfeeding again or you just want a second chance at breastfeeding, relactation is for you!

πŸ’‘ How is possible?
Relactation is possible with regular stimulation of the ni**le from nursing, hand expressions and the pump or a combination.
Though milk won't come out in the beginning, eventually the repeated suction signals your body to start producing milk again.
Regular and frequent nursing sessions will be very helpful if the baby will nurse!

Becoming a mother is a process of huge on-going self-transformation, but a process that very often remains unacknowledged and unconscious.

We forget that when a baby is born, a mother is born too.

Studies showed that more than a fifth of women who had a six-week mother and baby check up said they weren’t asked about their own mental and emotional wellbeing. According to the Association for Post Natal Illness, as many as 10% of mothers experience post-natal depression.

Mothers need acknowledgement, understanding and kindness. We say it takes a village to raise a child but mothers too must have their village. Studies and research show that just as children need to receive unconditional acceptance, so do mothers. In short, mothers need mothering too. πŸ€±πŸΎβ€‹β€‹β€‹β€‹β€‹β€‹β€‹β€‹
