We loved making this infographic a few years back, and it's great to see how much we still value it today. It's a friendly reminder that staying healthy can be simple and enjoyable. Let's keep these tips in mind as we celebrate.❣️

Is the push and pull of the holidays starting to feel like too much?

In my latest blog, I share my journey of learning to slow down. I also introduce a simple hand-over-heart practice that can help you pause, breathe, and reconnect with what matters most.

This practice is helpful as you approach the weeks ahead with greater intention and ease.

I would love to hear what practices bring steadiness and warmth to your holidays. I read and appreciate each response.

This time of year can feel tender. The days fill up. Our hearts stretch to hold a little more.

For a long time, I met this season by simply doing more. I ran a healing center, taught classes, cooked for family and friends, and tried to be there for anyone who needed support. I loved that life, and I also reached a point where my body could no longer keep pace.

A health crisis asked me to stop. Not pause briefly and then jump back in, but truly stop. In that stopping, I began to see something I had often ignored. Slowing down was not a sign of failure. It was how the healing energies could finally reach me.

This insight later shaped Regenerative Somatics and, recently, took form in a mini-retreat called the Inner Oasis: Resting in the Heart.

In that gathering, we came together to:

- Arrive in our bodies and feel the ground beneath us

- Breathe with awareness, hand over heart, and invite heart coherence.

- Call in awe-filled appreciation through memories that genuinely open the heart.

- Reflect on what true rest might mean in this season of giving.

What moved me most was how quickly a group of people from different places began to feel like a small community.

The chat was filled with inspiration. As we settled together, faces softened. Breaths slowed. The tone of the afternoon changed.

You don't need a formal retreat to touch this kind of rest.
You could try a brief version of the practice on your own:

- Sit and feel the support beneath you
- Place a hand lightly over your heart
- Breathe a little more slowly through your nose
- Remember a place or moment that brings genuine warmth

Then you might ask yourself:

- What does rest look like for me in this season?
- Where does my body ask me to soften or say no
- What is one simple way I could tend to my own heart before tending to others?

Sometimes the smallest pause can change the tone of an entire day.

✨ Special thanks to HeartMath for inspiring our first practice of the day.

It's Giving Tuesday, and instead of asking for anything, we're offering a gift for you and the people you care about.

We're hosting a free mini-retreat and workshop: Resting in the Heart -- part of our Inner Oasis for the Holidays. It's for those who give a great deal of themselves, often without pause.

We'll explore what it means to truly rest in the heart and to tend to ourselves before the season asks for more of our energy. Through somatic practices, breath, and inner listening, we'll create space and nourish the heart in a way that supports us from the inside out.

🌿 Inner Oasis for the Holidays: Resting the Heart

A Free Gathering
Saturday, November 29th
12:00–2:00 PM CT

As we move toward the holiday season, we're offering a free two-hour gathering called Inner Oasis for the Holidays: Resting the Heart. It’s a chance to slow down, nurture the heart, and replenish our energy so we can enter the season from a steadier, more grounded place.

During our time together, we’ll rest, breathe, journal, reflect, and reconnect with what truly supports us. The pace will be simple and spacious — an opportunity to take a meaningful pause before things get full.

If this feels supportive, you’re welcome to join us.

What is Regenerative Somatics?

The word soma refers to the living body — the felt sense of being alive, not just physical structure.

Regenerative Somatics brings together the wisdom of practices like yoga, Qigong, and the Tao with contemporary understandings from energy medicine, neurobiology, and trauma healing. It’s an integrative, body-centered approach that respects both the body's science and the subtle nature of healing.

At its core, this work supports a return to your own inner intelligence — the life force that organizes, restores, and steadies you. Through this reconnection, the body, mind, and spirit begin to shift toward balance, vitality, and a clearer sense of wholeness.

Excited to share that first Inner Oasis 2.0 class, Stillness and Motion, received excellent feedback! One participant described it as "calming, spacious, and held in sacred space."

Hosting these classes has been a fulfilling journey, especially considering my past challenges with chronic fatigue and autoimmune issues. There was a time when I was uncertain that I'd make it to 60, and I'm grateful to be here now.

What if six weeks could transform how you connect with your body?

After successfully running our wellness through movement series twice, we listened to participants and evolved. Inner Oasis 2.0 now includes enhanced resources for body awareness, balance, and renewal—plus new tools for sustainable habit building. And there's still space to join this cohort!

Know someone struggling to reconnect with their body or break through physical limitations? Tag them below or send this their way—sometimes the right invitation opens the door to transformation.
