SetPT NYC is so excited to introduce our new addition… Megan Young.
For years, Megan has been on both sides of rehabilitating orthopedic injuries. Her experiences as both a patient and provider in fast paced settings influenced her to seek a career that allows her to provide individualized, hands-on care.
Megan's passion for pelvic floor physical therapy stems largely from her experience as a division I runner. Like many college athletes, Megan struggled physically and mentally to balance her academic and athletic workload. This led to her developing residual energy deficiency-syndrome (RED-S), rehabilitating numerous stress fractures, and searching for an answer for her chronic pain. She spent years visiting specialists, undergoing tests, and trying various treatments before she received her diagnosis - endometriosis.
Megan understands the importance of listening to and looking at the entire patient. She aims to break the stigma and increase awareness of pelvic floor dysfunction, and hopefully provide more people with the care they need much sooner. Megan has completed Athletes and Pelvic Rehabilitation, Pelvic Floor Level 1, and Pelvic Floor Level 2B with the Herman and Wallace Pelvic Rehabilitation Institute to further her knowledge and understanding. Her clinical skills include manual therapy and joint mobilization, running gait analysis, concussion rehabilitation, balance training, and aquatic therapy. Megan enjoys spending free time with her family and exploring Central Park with her dog. Goose. She is passionate about animal foster and rescue, baking bread!!

Exercises for Rotator Cuff Injurjes

🔹 the exercises shown here are more intermediate. Our patient is now able to reach over head with less pain, so we're trying to improve stability and activation of the muscles around the scapula, including the rotator cuff (slighter stabilizing muscles) in different shoulder range of motion angles.

🔹consult with your physical therapist if these exercises are appropriate for you if you're having trouble reaching over head.

🔹DM or visit our website if you'd like a consultation regarding any potential injuries you may have!! 😊
