We are seeking doulas and childbirth educators to support our Happy Brown Baby Incarcerated Parent Education and Doula Program in Washington, DC with both volunteer and paid opportunities.

Birthworkers with experience in the following areas are especially encouraged to apply :

Providing holistic doula care to women and families in DC
Supporting incarcerated parents / providing reentry support resources
Facilitating group childbirth education classes
Substance Use Intervention / Prevention

We are seeking passionate community members to join our 2025 -2027 Board of Directors in key roles focused on Fundraising, Advocacy, Programming, and Marketing. Make an impact and support our mission in providing evidence-based cannabis education and care centering women and families.

Each position is a two-year appointment, providing a chance to influence our mission and drive our initiatives forward. Join us in shaping the future of cannabis education and support our commitment to fostering informed and safe use within communities most impacted by cannabis prohibition and the war on drugs.

As we celebrate women’s history, our goal this month is to ensure that all women have the education and support to incorporate cannabis into their wellness plan and lifestyle.

Together with family, we celebrated the life and homegoing of my stepmom, my dad’s beautiful wife, Veronica, who fought a courageous battle against breast cancer. I’m so thankful for her loving kindness and the joy she shared with our family against insurmountable obstacles. I learned so many lessons in womanhood and motherhood just by watching her be the superwoman that she was.

Veronica courageously battled breast cancer multiple times, using her own experience as a survivor to advocate for breast cancer awareness and provide support to others facing similar challenges.

Veronica’s fight with metastatic breast cancer encouraged me to learn as much as I possibly could about cannabis as an alternative and adjunct treatment for cancer and related symptoms and I will continue to fight and advocate for women like her to have access to medical cannabis. Her joyous spirit and her presence is truly missed.
