The Ross Center - Optimal Treatment for Anxiety & Mental Health
Multidisciplinary Treatment Center for Anxiety and Mental Health in Washington DC, Northern Virginia, and NYC.
For over 30 years, The Ross Center has been providing effective, long-lasting solutions that allow children and adults to live their best lives. Our internationally renowned psychiatrists, psychologists and therapists provide an array of evidence-based psychological and psychiatric treatments for a wide variety of mental health conditions. This unique, collaborative approach to treatment ensures that you receive the optimal mix of services, resulting in faster improvement, significant reduction in symptoms, and hope for a healthier future. The Ross Center was established by visionary anxiety specialist Jerilyn Ross, whose own struggle with mental illness inspired her to create a world-class mental health center for others whose lives have been disrupted by anxiety and depression. After receiving treatment for her own anxiety and phobia, she cofounded the Anxiety Disorders Association of America (ADAA) in 1979. We pride ourselves on keeping up with the latest research and providing the best practices to our patients and their families. As anxiety and depression rates have skyrocketed, the need for short-term, effective treatment for mental health disorders has grown. We’ve responded to that need with expanding mental health centers in Washington DC, Northern Virginia, and New York City. Our compassionate patient care team is trained to listen carefully to your concerns and direct you to the clinician and/or type of service best suited to your situation. You’ll find offices that have been designed for your comfort, with calming interiors in a relaxed setting. In addition, we offer evening and weekend hours so that booking an appointment is not another stressor in your life. We Can Help - Call us to schedule your first appointment.

As we step into 2026, personal goals don’t have to be about doing more, they can be about doing what matters most. Thoughtful goal-setting starts with alignment, clarity, and compassion for your time, energy, and real-life responsibilities. This year, consider goals that focus on sustainable behaviors, leave room for flexibility, and support your well-being along the way. Progress doesn’t have to be perfect to be meaningful and goals should create space, not pressure.

As we approach a season filled with resolutions and expectations, remember this:
Pausing is productive.
Rest is part of growth.
You don’t need to rush into becoming. Honor where you are right now.

Holiday stress can feel overwhelming, especially when routines change and expectations run high. One of the tools that may help you self-soothe when stressed is the 5-4-3-2-1 grounding technique. This simple, sensory-based exercise helps bring your attention back to the present moment, calm your nervous system, and reduce feelings of anxiety in real time. It’s a practical strategy you can use anywhere during busy gatherings, stressful moments, or when your thoughts feel scattered. Interested in hearing more tips about how to navigate holiday stress? Our FREE webinar Steady Through the Season: Using DBT Skills to Manage Holiday Stress is now on demand for those interested in watching. In this webinar, we introduce you to the core tools that can be used during this complicated season and throughout your life. Learn new approaches to help you get through the holidays with more balance, intention, and self-compassion.

These holiday gatherings were a chance to slow down, share meals, laugh together, and reflect on a year of meaningful work and connection. Community matters to us as clinicians, and to the care we provide. From our Ross Center family to yours, thank you for being part of our journey.
