2023 VA Immersive Summit
This summer, we hosted the 2023 VA Immersive Summit in Washington, DC. Veterans, industry professionals, and staff gathered both in-person and virtually to celebrate positive immersive tech experiences and pave the way forward. Virtual reality offers #Veterans a non-pharmacological approach to PTSD, pain management, depression, and more. Putting #headsinheadsets connects Veteran patients to the soonest and best care by allowing for increased access and home-based care.

Introduction to the Safety Plan app
Safety Plan is a free and publicly available mobile app for anyone who has experienced thoughts about suicide or self-harm. It was created by the National Center for PTSD, Department of Veterans Affairs. The app helps you make a safety plan, share your safety plan with loved ones, and use tools to manage distress. Although Safety Plan can be used on its own, creating your plan with a mental health provider can be helpful. Safety Plan is not intended to replace professional care. #Safetyplan #self-harm #suicide #suicideprevention

National Lung Cancer Screening Day
An update from VA Under Secretary for Health Dr. Shereef Elnahal:
This Veterans Day—November 11—in honor of Lung Cancer Awareness Month, VA is proud to participate in the second annual National Lung Cancer Screening Day as part of the White House’s Cancer Moonshot efforts.
If you—or someone you know—is 50-80 years old, smokes cigarettes currently, smoked in the last 15 years or smoked for at least 20 pack-years, you may be eligible for lung cancer screening. Talk with your VA health care team or your health care provider.
No one knows moonshots like the people who went to the moon, so I am thrilled that NASA is partnering with us in this effort to bring attention to the importance of screening.
