Jennifer Wells, Director of Economic Justice, shared her personal story about the role Medicaid and SNAP played in her life during the rally in D.C.

"I'm here both as an advocate and organizer and as someone who has lived the realities we're fighting to change, as a person who has been directly shaped by the programs that are currently under attack," Wells said. "I was a Medicaid kid, I was a SNAP kid. These programs kept me and my mom and my brother healthy, alive, and moving forward when we had nothing to fall back on."

This week's jobs report confirms what people know: the Trump economy is making life harder for everyday people, harder to find a job and harder to afford basic necessities. His Big Ugly Bill will make life exponentially worse for all of us, and the rich richer. We need to immediately reverse the cuts that Republicans enacted, stop the attacks on immigrants, and invest in the support that all families need to thrive.
