Back from in Phoenix. I started to understand the pathway for getting GLOW GUIDE covered by Medicare as a mobility aid thanks to Angela Austin. Grateful to have spent time in Washington, DC this week at the VetsInTech event hosted by , surrounded by fellow veterans, innovators, and leaders all focused on the future of AI and technology.

My friend’s husband had leg surgery and needed crutches this winter. Snow + ice + early darkness made every step stressful.
We snapped Glow Guide onto his crutches so he could actually see the ground at dusk—curbs, ice, uneven patches—and feel more confident getting around outside.

GLOW GUIDE’s first award marks the beginning of a broader campaign to inform families, caregivers, and healthcare systems about the importance of nighttime and emergency visibility for mobility device users. Every cane should have a safety light. Every caregiver should be supported in preventing nighttime falls. Awareness is the first step and then comes emergency preparedness. I’m grateful NYC believes in our mission.

We now know that GLOW GUIDE has much broader utility--for hikers, dog walkers, and Moms-- to walk with confidence and feel prepared.
