Thank you to the National Council on Aging (NCOA) for awarding our agency a $200,000 grant! 💙 This funding will help us assist low-income Medicare beneficiaries with enrolling in critical benefit programs, including Medicare Part D Extra Help, Medicare Savings Programs, SNAP, and Medicaid. We’re grateful for NCOA’s support in helping older adults access the benefits they need to stay healthy and financially secure.

❄️ Cold Weather Safety Reminder for Older Adults ❄️

Extreme cold is forecasted over the next few days, and it’s important to take extra precautions to stay safe and warm. Older adults are especially vulnerable during frigid temperatures.

✔️ Stay indoors when possible and keep your home adequately heated
✔️ Dress in layers if you must go outside
✔️ Make sure medications and medical supplies are on hand
✔️ Check on friends, family, and neighbors. A quick call or visit can make a big difference

Scammers are really clever and with artificial intelligence (AI) they are getting even trickier. Reports are showing scammers are cloning voices from voicemail greetings. If you have a voicemail recording of your voice, you might want to shorten it to under 5 seconds or let the factory voicemail be your recording.
