✨Your Brain on Fresh Air and Connection ✨

Did you know that spending time in nature literally changes your brain? Studies show that time outdoors reduces stress hormones, improves mood, and even boosts creativity. When we pause to breathe in fresh air, our nervous system shifts out of fight-or-flight and into a state of restoration.

But here’s the best part: when we share these moments with others, the benefits multiply. Human connection releases dopamine, lowers stress, and reminds us we’re not alone (unless you’re skiing down a run with your kids that you have no business being on- but that’s a different post about discernment/risk tolerance/comfort zone 😵‍💫)

✨spaciousness✨

This is my intention.

Last year it was ✨ease ✨ and it is really through the ease that I feel spacious. Annnnd- it has taken conscious, clear, kind, and consistent cultivation to nurture this.

I am successful about 20% of the time, which I will take as a win (kindness in action, right there 😂)

New Years Resolutions do not work for me. They feel like some rule I just want to break. An Intention feels different. Less of a “thing to do” and more of a “way to be”.

So, here’s to more ease and spaciousness in 2025.

Home from a much-needed out of office family holiday. As my kids grow older and embark on their own journeys, I am reminded of how this time together is incredibly precious, rejuvenating, and nourishing to my heart.
•
As I emerge from this time and reengage with “real life“, I am reminded of the importance of slowing down and ✨unplugging✨
•
The most nourishing and essential things in life are love and connection. Sometimes we need to step out of our regular routines and unplug to fully reconnect.

I’ve never been a New Years Resolution person. If resolutions work for you, that is great, but they’ve never really work for me. Resolutions feel like some imposed new rule that I just wanted to break.

✨intentions are different✨•

For me, Intentions have always been powerful. The more clear the intention, the more powerful.
•
An intention is not another thing on your to-do list, rather it is a way of being and what you bring to everything you do. The underlying energetic current.
•
Working towards distilling your intention down to a word or two is a potential form of clarity.
•
My intention this year is ease. Ease means so many things to me, but essentially it allows for more space to connect with the people and things I value most.
•
