I am super bummed that Kehlani didn’t get to go downstairs last night. One of her favorite people in the world came up here Andrea Nixon and her hubby. They are with Adriana's Angels The Adriana Nixon Foundation

We absolutely adore this family and are so blessed that in this most of chaos have formed an amazing friendship.

They brought Kehl some goodies. Last admission, the OR accidentally lost her blanket (eventually it was recovered) but we now have an amazing new one to keep up with. She also got some pretty snazzy new kicks… (i had to pry them off for her to go to sleep).

This new cycle is mentally kicking my butt! Since we got a room so late and her labs have to meet a certain level…. Her first chemo med starts around midnight and runs for 4 hours. Her next med will start around 4am and runs for 2 hours. She will also have to be checked every 3 hours to make sure she’s using th bathroom. Now since it’s day 2… she starts immunotherapy at 6am. Which this is where she will have to be hooked up to a continuous pain medication. This could run anywhere from 10-20 hours.

Chemo Cycle 3
Day 1 - Chemo
New chemo meds this time. From what I’ve been told these ones aren’t the greatest. Normally her medicines run for 30 min each. Tonight they run for 4 hours and then 2-3 hours. We have 3 nights of chemotherapy and then 4 nights of immunotherapy. It’s going to be a long 5 days

Cisplatin and Etoposide - heard these 2 are gonna make it rough.

Currently hydrating before we start!

I was hopeful but not today ugh.
Her counts are 310 we need them at 1000. So another night here in the hospital it is.

She spiked a fever last night around 7p, that means she’s stuck in the room for 24 hours.

Also, looks like we need blood transfusion this morning.. so thats fun.

Sounds like a Monday.

A lot of y’all have asked for Christmas lists for Kehlani. I have an Amazon wish list all of the kids have put stuff on if anyone wants. (My oldest always says worry about her siblings.. so I added some gift cards for her)

Kehlani Update
Since we can’t collect today… what do we do… Starbucks run!!!! Unfortunately we had a rough afternoon, her shots to get her counts up cause he bone pain.. so we haven’t gotten out of bed a lot this afternoon… we also had the sweetest delivery.. we have such amazing neighbors!!

Double Lumen Central Line placement
And o***y removal.

If anyone would like to send her cards, balloons etc please let me know. We will be admitted for a week.

Also we had some ask what she needs:
- Disney DVDs - she’s watched every movie on the hospital tv.
- Food gift cards - she’s getting over hospital food

Day 5 Chemo
Day 4 Immunotherapy

Immunotherapy has been okay. We haven’t had to increase her pain meds much today. She has spiked some nasty fevers 102,103, and 104. However, after some Motrin it comes back down pretty quickly. As
You see she’s still up to her normal goofy self.
