Nancy Ann has been a valued member of the Van Diest Family Health Clinic team for the past two years, bringing with her a depth
of experience and a heart for patient care. She also holds a certification in wound care.

At the heart of Nancy Ann’s work is a genuine love for people.

“I love meeting the community we serve and getting to know them,” she said.

She also appreciates the balance her role provides—something she values deeply after years in nursing.

“I don’t go home feeling stressed or feeling like I didn't make a difference in someone's day,” she added. “We have a great clinic and hospital with the best providers ever.”

Outside of work, Nancy Ann’s creativity shines just as brightly. An accomplished painter, many of her original pieces are displayed in clinic exam rooms in Webster City and Jewell, adding warmth and comfort to the patient experience. She also treasures time with her five grandsons and enjoys being outdoors—camping, kayaking on the river, and fishing from her boat whenever she gets the chance.

Van Diest Medical Center recently welcomed local junior and senior high school students participating in a Career Exploration class for an inside look at the many career paths available in healthcare.

During their visit, students had the opportunity to hear directly from representatives in Information Technology, Accounting, Rehabilitation Services, Laboratory, Radiology, the Emergency Department and EMS, and Nursing Services. Each team member shared insights into their daily responsibilities, the education and training required for their roles, and what they find most rewarding about working in healthcare.

From patient care to behind-the-scenes support, students learned that a hospital relies on a wide range of skilled professionals working together to serve our community.

We are grateful to the students for their curiosity and engagement, and we extend a sincere thank you to our department managers and staff who took time to share their knowledge and experiences.

Investing in education and career exploration helps strengthen the future of healthcare — and we’re proud to support the next generation.

Jill stayed well after her shift was supposed to end and helped me at registration until we were caught up in the ED. There were patients coming in from a multiple-car accident on I-35. She stayed and helped process patients, get needed information and even called and ordered pizza for the staff (a provider's idea). She ended up helping until almost 8:00, which was so appreciated.

Jill, we appreciate your dedication to a great patient experience, compassion and customer service. We are so proud of you and you are very deserving of this award!

Van Diest Medical Center's Board of Trustees will meet Tuesday, Feb. 24 at 6 p.m. in the clinic board room. The trustees will set the date for a public hearing for the Fiscal Year 2027 tax asking. It was incorrectly stated in the Daily Freeman-Journal, Webster City, IA that the hearing was scheduled for Tuesday's meeting.
