This past week we celebrated National EMS Week, and the Webster City Police Department would like to take a moment to recognize and thank all EMS professionals for the care, dedication, and sacrifice they show every day.

We also want to give a special thank you to the team at Van Diest Medical Center for everything you do for Webster City and the surrounding communities. We truly appreciate your partnership and commitment to helping others, and we are very grateful to work alongside you every single day.

Thank you to all EMS providers for the long hours, hard work, and compassion you bring to the job each day. Your service and dedication do not go unnoticed!

This week, we proudly celebrate EMS Week and honor the dedicated emergency medical professionals who answer the call — day and night, in every season, and in life’s most critical moments.

At Van Diest Medical Center, we are grateful for our incredible EMS team and the outstanding partnerships we share with first responders and ambulance services throughout Hamilton County. Together, these unsung heroes provide compassionate care, rapid response, and lifesaving support to our communities when it matters most.

To all of our EMS providers, paramedics, EMTs, dispatchers, firefighters, law enforcement partners, hospital staff, and first responders across Hamilton County: thank you for your commitment, teamwork, and service.

Nikki’s nomination read:

During a day with two providers, not only did Nikki balance checking patients in with calling other patients to reschedule, but she also went out of her way with one of our patients. The patient had 3 appointments in total - Nikki checked him in, made sure he was set and kept checking in with him. During a check-in he stated that he was quite hungry, because not only did he spend almost 2 hours in one appointment, he was also sitting for a lengthy stress test. She went above and beyond, getting him lunch and a drink. Nikki truly showed amazing compassion, care, and service excellence. She was able to prioritize making our patient comfortable during his time here while balancing a busy day. Plus, it's patient access week, and she is a shining example of the experience we hope to give all of our patients here at the hospital. Thankful to have her as that example for me and for others.

Nikki, we appreciate your dedication to a great patient experience, compassion and customer service. We are so proud of you and you are very deserving of this award!
