"This is my nephew, Kenneth Vanoster. His mental health was a constant battle for the little 29 years of his life.. That's right, at the age of 29 while being held on su***de watch in jail, he was able to hang himself.. August 7th 2024 was the worst day of our lives..
I got the pleasure of seeing my nephew be born, and I got my heart ripped out holding onto him while he took his last breath...
This is a reminder you're not alone, people do care!!
Thank you so much for this wonderful way for me to show that he's still with me everyday!! 💜😭

"This is my 28 year old beautiful daughter, Devon, who lost her life in February due to su***de from mental illness. Bipolar with schizophrenia.
She was joyous, gorgeous, loving, funny and filled with light. She was also filled with what she called "demons", which despite my decade of working with and begging doctors for new medications, won out in the end. I horrifyingly had to find her, after I got off of work, in her closet. She was gone. Messages she had sent to close friends told of her mental state. She truly believed she had to die to save her family. She sacrificed her life, mistakenly believing she could rescue mine.

Su***de and mental health awareness are such overlooked and underfunded tragedies. You never think it will happen to your family. No movie or book or speech can prepare you for that SHOCK to your brain, the realization they aren't breathing. Seeing little blue hands. Ultimately, for months, you are suffocating too. It's demolished everything, all of your hopes and plans for your child. It's destroyed your family and friends. It's not a club you ever asked to be part of. And all I have left is that picture in my head, of discovering her little body, and begging her to wake up.

Did you know sour candy helps to stop panic attacks? Learned recently from my therapist 🤍
The sourness becomes the focus instead of the anxiety and it stops the panic attack.

It has helped me several times personally🤞

Candy: Toxic waste or War head extreme (sour patch kids were never "sour enough" for me)

Just a simple "thinking of you" or "I really like your shoes" can really change someone's entire day and in turn, save their life.
Take time to be kind🤍🙏
