Did you eat too many peeps over the last few days? Did your kids' Easter basket look like this and you had to help them? (This legit came from my kids' Easter baskets from their grandparents 7 years ago - they have gotten much better :)) Need I reset?

I received some questions on my 5-Day Spring Reset program that kicks off in a few days, so I'm sharing my answers here in case you've been watching and wondering if you should sign-up.

FAQs about my 5-Day Spring Reset

Is this really a Detox? Why are you calling it a Reset?
Yes, this is really a detox, but I chose to brand it as a reset. Primarily, so it doesn't sound so scary because "detox" can sounds a little intimidating. And trust me, it's not scary and as hard as you might think.

How do I know I need to detox?
A few signs of needing a detox are fatigue, headaches, skin problems, and excess fat, especially in your belly. But the truth is that if you just aren't feeling that great, a detox can help. We live in an increasingly hectic and toxic environment, and taking time for high-level self-care like a detox can make a huge difference in your energy, mood and even your body shape. Plus, it’s a great way to hit the reset button on your eating habits!

What will happen during the detox?
You'll get a step-by-step guide of what you'll need to do every day on this detox. We'll focus on eating high-nutrient foods like fresh vegetables and fruits, whole grains, and proteins. We'll cut out processed foods, dairy, and sugar. The first few days you might feel a little off as your body gets used to the new things you're eating, but by the end of the week you'll likely feel amazing.

How do I know it will work for me?
I can't guarantee that it will work, but it's a safe bet that you'll see positive improvements after 5 days. And, if you don't, let me know, and I'll refund your money. However, dropping weight, sleeping better, increased energy, pooping better (yes, I just said that), and less grumpiness have all been reported by people that have followed this program in the past.

Practicing mindfulness as you eat is a way of fully engaging with the experience of nourishing your body. It allows us to be more aware and appreciative of food's flavors, smells, textures, and shapes.

To practice mindfulness as you eat, set aside all distractions, such as phones or TVs, and be present with your meal. When you take a bite, focus on chewing it slowly and savoring each flavor that comes from it—noticing the smell and texture.

Recognize how your body feels after each bite and allow yourself to notice when you've had enough. Practicing mindfulness as you eat can train your mind to be more mindful of other daily tasks and ultimately create balance in your life.

Sleeping helps to regulate the hormones in our bodies that control hunger and metabolism, including ghrelin (the hormone that increases hunger) and leptin (the hormone that decreases hunger). Getting enough quality sleep each night also helps ensure you get enough energy throughout the day, which can help with overall wellness.

During REM sleep, our metabolism naturally increases, so not getting enough could be throwing off your body's internal system of burning calories efficiently. Sleep is essential to maintaining your overall health and metabolism - neglecting it can lead to many metabolic issues and chronic fatigue.

Getting adequate sleep is essential for every part of your body, but you may have yet to consider how important it is for your metabolism. Aim to get 7-9 hours of sleep per night and after a few weeks of consistent good sleep hygiene, see how much better you feel overall.
