We are thrilled for our incredible gap year, Jenna, who got into PA school (but had only one week to decide, move to NYC, and get started!). She is a suprstar and the field of medicine is beyond lucky to have her!

This is before and then 5 days after an upper lid lift (blepharoplasty)on a 70yo patient who felt her hooded eyes were making her look tired. You can see that even a few days after, her eyes look more open and she appears more refreshed. She is thrilled!!
*note, this patient had mild brow asymmetry at her baseline, which would require a different procedure to correct

This procedure is done by our board certified oculofacial plastic surgeon (this means eyes are her one and only focus day in and day out) and she has done hundreds of these producedures

This is performed in our office at DermWellesley and takes about an hour

Everyone has a different recovery journey in terms of swelling and bruising, but many are in pretty good shape 5-7 days after (like the patient on the previous slide)

Dr. Tiffany Sun, M.D. Ph.D. is a distinguished, double board-certified dermatologist and Mohs micrographic surgeon with an expertise in the surgical treatment of skin cancers. Dr. Sun practices medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology and has extensive advanced training and experience in Mohs surgery and cosmetic facial reconstruction.

Dr. Sun is double board-certified by the American Board of Dermatology in dermatology and micrographic dermatologic surgery. As a fellowship-trained Mohs surgeon, she is an active member of the American College of Mohs Surgery.

Dr. Sun completed her dermatology training at the Harvard Combined Dermatology Residency Training Program where she learned from the leading experts in all facets of dermatology at the Massachusetts General Hospital, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Beth Israel, and Boston Children’s Hospital. Following residency, she went on to complete a rigorous fellowship in Mohs micrographic surgery, cutaneous oncology, and cosmetic dermatology at a nationally renowned fellowship program at the University of California San Francisco.

Dr. Sun attended medical school at Northwestern University in Chicago, IL and completed her internship at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center. Prior to medical school, Dr. Sun graduated from Cornell University and received her Ph.D. from Yale University. She studied immune responses to infection for her Ph.D. and she continues to have a keen interest in understanding the immune response to skin tumors. Dr. Sun has contributed significantly to the field through several peer-reviewed publications on skin cancer.

After fellowship, Dr. Sun returned to practice in Massachusetts and helped train and teach the Brigham and Women’s Hospital Mohs surgery fellows. In addition to DermWellesley, Dr. Sun also practices as a Mohs surgeon at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington, MA, where she continues to train and mentor future Mohs surgeons through the fellowship program at the Lahey Clinic. With her robust academic background and clinical experience and expertise, Dr. Sun is dedicated to providing the highest standard of care to her patients.

Please join me in welcoming our board-certified and fellowship trained dermatologist, Dr. Sara Berg to our team. She is a rockstar derm and incredible human. You’ll ❤️ her!!

Sara Berg, MD is a board-certified dermatologist with advanced training in all facets of medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology. She treats the entire spectrum of skin conditions with a special interest in cutaneous oncology and other complex medical dermatological conditions. She also has expertise with a broad range of therapeutics including the most cutting-edge treatments for common skin conditions such as alopecia, atopic dermatitis and psoriasis. Dr. Berg also performs outpatient surgical procedures to remove both skin cancers and select benign skin lesions.

Dr. Berg joins us after serving as the director of the Cutaneous Lymphoma Clinic at Beth Israel Lahey Health for several years. She championed the formation of this program to provide her high risk complex medical and oncologic patients with more comprehensive care in collaboration with other specialists. While at Lahey, she also served as a clinical preceptor and instructor for the Harvard dermatology residency program. She has lectured on a national stage and has been published extensively in numerous peer- reviewed journals for both her basic science and clinical research.

Dr. Berg completed her internship at Pennsylvania Hospital and her residency at the University of Pennsylvania where she served as Chief Resident during her final year. She then completed a fellowship in Cutaneous Oncology also at UPENN during which she trained under many world-renowned experts in the field. Dr. Berg received her MD from the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania where she was elected into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. She graduated summa cm laude from the University of Pennsylvania and is board certified by the American Board of Dermatology.

Dr. Berg is on the consulting staff at Newton Wellesley Hospital and is accepting new patients of all ages. She is thrilled to part of the team at DermWellesley!!

Please join us in welcoming Dr. Yasuda! ❤️. Mariko Ruth Yasuda, MD joins us from MGH where she been an instructor in dermatology at Harvard Medical School and a staff dermatologist in the Department of Dermatology at Mass General Hospital for nearly a decade. As a board-certified dermatologist and dermatopathologist, she takes care of patients with a wide range of skin diseases including skin cancer, psoriasis, acne, eczema, vitiligo, hair loss, and other complex medical dermatologic conditions. She also was the former co-director of the alopecia clinic at MGH, where she focused on the treatment and education of patients suffering from complex hair loss disorders, including scarring and non-scarring hair loss. Dr. Yasuda completed an internal medicine internship, dermatology residency, and dermatopathology fellowship at the University of Massachusetts. She received her medical degree from Albany Medical and is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. She is a graduate of Wellesley College.

These photos show a woman in her 40’s before and 1 month after upper and lower eyelid blepharoplasty surgery.

Before surgery there is extra skin in her upper eyelids giving a heavy appearance and herniating fat in her lower eyelids making them appear puffy. Together these changes can make one look tired even after a good night’s sleep! 😴
