Mounjaro (Tirzepatide) is a molecule manufactured and owned by Eli Lilly, just as Ozempic/Wegovy(Semaglutide) is manufactured and owned by NovoNordisk. When you use compounded forms of these medications, you are truly taking a gamble on what you’re receiving. “Off-label” prescribing is not a crime so long as patients understand the risks and benefits of such use, and patients are safely monitored. However buying medications that are basically being ”bootlegged” in a pharmacy can not only be ineffective, but potentially harmful to patients. With approximately 42% of Americans battling obesity, many clinics and compounding pharmacies have found cash value in patients’ desperation to lose weight. Obesity is a multifaceted issue and should be tackled from all angles, including psychosocial interventions, sustainable lifestyle changes, and, if necessary, medicinal approaches. Please be kind to yourselves and be careful when choosing your treatment options. ❤️
