Add these sprints to your cardio workout....
Warm up is 10-15 minutes jog to get the blood flowing and warm up the muscles. The killer cardio workout: 1 minute all out running 9-12 on the treadmill speed. Next is 10 reps of abs then 1 minute jog. Repeat 10x.

I love how powerful I feel because of fitness. It truly sparked a passion within me I will be forever grateful for. I do try to encourage others to keep trying because for years I attempted to maintain some small changes in diet and exercise that were very difficult back then. But had I given up, I have no idea where my life would be today.

This journey in health is way more than skin deep. Take care of your body. Appreciate it. 31 years old and I can say I am who I am and where I am because I believed I would be here. There were hard moments, tears, and people who fell out of my life but I am grateful for it all. It took a lot of hard work, consistency, and confidence building EVERYDAY.

But in only 2 years I look at the world completely differently, and because of that my children’s view will also be altered.
Remember that there are little people who are always watching. A constant reminder of who we are everyday, and how we choose to show up for ourselves.

I believe in progress photos. My scale weight hasn’t moved in months (I’m on the lowest BMI suggested for my height 6’2) but I’m focused on my workouts and my diet 💯 I’ve lost inches, my tight clothes are much bigger on me. This is ONLY progress of 4 weeks. Such a short period but I’m so committed to clean eating over the next 4 weeks I’m pushing myself harder than ever. I post these not to say the photo on the left looked bad in any way but I’m fueled by my body composition changing and if I was only looking at the scale then I’d believe NOTHING had changed. You’ve got to keep your mind in check. I’ve got 4 weeks to go, until my first summer goal June 6th! let’s see what kinda work I can do this summer.

It took years of my excuses filling my mind daily before I was honest enough with myself on why I was to ________ (fill in the blank) to change. Busy, tired, lazy, etc.
One day it all clicked, I went for a long walk. Slowly after a week of waking, I decided it was time for the gym. Weeks passed going to the gym, I was ready to start eating healthy. Piece by piece my small changes were like a domino effect on my life. It happened gradually but it truly lit a fire a passion for change I had never felt before.
My excuses were gone and my results became within reach. Not some BS fad to drop weight fast, or a quick fix. I believe the real way to maintain a healthy body is consistency and commitment. Working hard to learn about a healthy diet was a game changer for my body transformation. Introducing one new habit at a time was the key.

Toning those arms are a common issue I hear about. I add these into my daily routine. Even just 10 minutes a day will make a huge difference. Cant wait for all the swimsuits, sleeveless shirts, and pretty maxi dresses this summer! ☀️👙☀️
20 reps of triceps \ 3 sets
Planks for 30 seconds each side
20 hip dips / 3 sets

✨✨✨✨ Why not just go for being the best that you can be? Why stay stuck in a body you don’t love? How much time will pass by before you decide SCREW it, let’s see where this can go? That’s what push me out of my comfort zone. It started with a GOAL... set a goal for 30 days to make 3 positive changes in your life. It doesn’t have to be a major change at once. Small changes over time can get you big results. Up your steps through out the day, raise your weights at the gym, make sure your hydrating your body, train a few extra reps each set and fuel yourself on foods that will push you in the direction of your goal. ✨✨✨✨

Personal progress update 🙌🏼 18 months. 100 pounds down. Weighing the same I did in middle school.

Sorry I’ve been absent from the fit 4 a day page. Life’s been a little crazy with searching where my oldest will be attending next Fall for kindergarten. I have been consistent with the gym, meal prepping, and training with friends. I might not post as often as I’d like but my heart is commit to self care first and foremost, and second my family. I’m sure everyone gets it. My current routine is Monday-Friday training between 1-2 hours a day. Since my youngest is only doing half days 3x per week it doesn’t leave me ANY spare time. If only there were more hours in the day right? The mom life balance is difficult but doable. Progress not perfection. I will have more time to share what’s been working and not working soon as all applications for children’s schools close in Feb. Hope we can all catch up soon!

I’m just a regular girl who’s her own biggest competition. Who’s trying to find balance between loving myself and being my own worst enemy. As a mother I am my hardest critic skeptical if I deserve to take time to mentally and physically recharge myself. These are the crazy thoughts that daily most women have to go up against. I’ve always been the type of person who is real with whatever I’m going through. The struggle will always be there... but I just remind myself of where I’ve come from, 2 years ago I had never stepped foot in the gym. Completely clueless on how to lift weights but everyday I showed up. Gave it my all, and poured my heart in every second of my workouts. Sometimes, I left feeling like the work I still had to do was so much harder than I could handle. Day by day I was getting closer to my goal. Guess what, it slowly got easier now the gym is my second home. I truly feel at peace when I’m there. So thankful for these four walls. {Behind every fear, there is a miracle waiting.} .

It’s ALL about meal prepping. Spent the day grabbing fresh ingredients, working out, and cooking. There’s no “I don’t have time” to fuel your body. Let’s take things to the next level. 👌 Chilean sea bass, broccoli, asparagus, brussel sprouts and jasmine rice. 🐟 prepped with lemon zest, minced garlic, soy sauce, ginger, toasted sesame, rice vinegar, salt & pepper.

It’s the holiday party season ❄️👗👠 mommies are always asking about their arms and how to tighten them up. It’s so nice to feel confident in your cocktail dresses and bare your arms without them continuing to wave after you’ve said hello. 🚫🙄 Another added bonus to using weights in your workout is a boost to your metabolism to burn fat after your done training. Here’s a few triceps exercises to add to your rotation.

When I started out my goal was to drop 70 pounds. After those first 6 months I was more than halfway to my goal, but I knew I couldn’t stop there. Once I achieved losing 70 pounds I knew I could do more, do something better for my life. I kept pushing going towards 100 pounds lost. I love that I don’t recognize the old me, I gained a healthy happy body and a disciplined mindset. Still today I’m aiming towards bigger goals, never be satisfied with “good enough” or “just okay.” You may find yourself in a body you always dreamed of. ❤️ I am living proof that anything’s possible when you believe in yourself and have faith in the process. A daily reminder to stay focused on your goals, taking fitness one day at a time. You am do anything you set your mind to!

Sometimes we can lose sight of why we are living this healthy lifestyle. Our children are always watching how we view food and what we consume. I try to lead by example of food being fuel. Time to start having a positive effect on our children’s eating habits. It all starts with OURSELVES. .

2017 PROGRESS... ⚡️👏🏻⚡️👏🏻⚡️👏🏻⚡️ The photo on the left is from Jan 5th 2017 16 months into my fitness journey I was feeling SO damnnnn good about myself, weighing 201.5 I had lost 39 pounds. On the right, is today Dec 21st I weigh 154 pounds. This year I’ve had to throw out every piece of clothing I own because it was swimming on me. I went from a size 16 ⏩ size 6. Proud of the strides I’ve made over this year staying consistent with the gym 5 days a week, and my meal prepping. Hoping this next year I can share everything I’ve been working on with all the mommies who wanna transform their lives on every level. Not selling anything but a dream.

So let’s talk about... accountability. It is the most critical part of weight loss next to what your diet consists of. Personally when my weight loss journey began I started to write a lot down in a notebook, looking back the biggest change I made was holding myself accountable for goals I set, plans to eat healthier, and a consistent workout routine.

The dinner struggle can be so real. I’ve found with young children you have to make healthier foods familiar or fun to make the dinner experience a good one. We have had too many nights of tears, fights, and battles trying to force our kids to be adventurous with their palettes. So frustrating to prepare a dinner to have it rejected but don’t give up and make something else!

It helps that the family is all eating the same thing and doing it together to encourage each other. It’s a balancing act to prepare healthy, fresh meals to the table every night but so important.

Dinner tonight we had fish sandwiches salmon on a whole wheat bun ( but could totally be a burger right mommas 😉) with asparagus and grapes. We talked about how when we like many types of food we can eat with different cultures of families we are friends to always have something we like. One kid ate it like a champ. The other one had to be talked through eating half with the fruit and veggies as motivation. I’ll do whatever it takes.

It’s gotten better every time I believe you have to keep introducing foods over and over before some kids are going to eat it. So any improvement is a win in my book! 🙋🏼‍♀️🙌🏽🙋🏼‍♀️

It’s been an awesome and crazy week of traveling to Las Vegas, holiday parties, school activities, and lots of mommy time. Since getting back to town I’ve just been eating whatever’s around to get by. Beyond exhausted today because of course after grocery shopping, preparing my kids for school, dinner, bedtime routine, all I want to do is sit down and relax.
The last thing I wanted to do is meal prep for the week. You know what tomorrow I’ll be back to my workout grind 5x straight and there’s nothing that feels better than knowing I’m good and can better take care of everyone I love.

Meals are Chicken. Cauliflower. Broccoli. Peppers. Onion.

Beast mode training session with my favorite workout buddy Suli. This woman has been an inspiration to me since day 1 in my fitness journey. I remember seeing her grinding and thinking to myself... Wow, she’s so intimidating. I literally just walked up to her one day and asked her how to do an exercise she was doing and she walked me through her whole workout she was doing that day & everyday since. The rest is history. 🤜🏼💪🏽🤜🏼💪🏽
