Letâs talk about whatâs really happening as we move into our late 30s and 40sâŚ
Because itâs not that your body âstopped working.â
Itâs that your hormones stopped being predictable.
In our younger years, hormones tend to follow a more consistent rhythm. You could eat the same, train the same, sleep a little less, deal with stress and your body would still respond.
Now? It hits different.
As we age, hormone patterns start to fluctuate more:
⢠Estrogen can spike and crash instead of flowing smoothly
⢠Progesterone (your calming, balancing hormone) starts to decline
⢠Ovulation isnât always as consistent
And this is where things start to feel⌠off.
You might notice:
đđ˝More bloating, even when youâre eating the same
đđ˝Mood swings that feel stronger or come out of nowhere
đđ˝Poor sleep or waking up tired
đđ˝Workouts that used to âworkâ suddenly not hitting the same
đđ˝Weight sticking, especially around the midsection
And letâs talk about the big oneđđ˝đđ˝stress.
Cortisol (your stress hormone) doesnât just exist⌠it becomes louder.
The same stress you used to brush off?
Now it lingers. It impacts your sleep, your cravings, your fat storage, your recovery.
Your body becomes more sensitive to it.
So when youâre constantly pushing, under-eating, overtraining, not sleeping, and staying stressed⌠your body isnât being âdifficultâ itâs being protective.
Itâs trying to keep you safe.
This is why what used to work⌠stops working.
Not because you need to try harder, but because you need to move smarter.
More strength.
More recovery.
More awareness.
Less punishment.
Your body isnât against you.
Itâs evolving.
And when you start working with it instead of fighting it⌠thatâs when everything starts to shift.
