Flexibility Friday πŸ’‘ | Your Hips Rotate Two Ways β€” When's the Last Time You Tested Them?

Squatting, running, side to side movements, and even just walking all depend on your hips being able to rotate freely in both directions. And hours of sitting every day is slowly locking that range of motion down without you even feeling it β€” until it's too late. 😳

πŸ”Ή Internal Rotation β€” Sit with knees together and swing your feet out like a gate. How far do they go?
πŸ”Ή External Rotation β€” Cross your ankle over your opposite knee. Can your knee drop toward the floor comfortably?

Runner's knee doesn't just affect runners β€” it affects anyone whose hips and ankles aren't doing their job properly. And most people have no idea that's the root cause.

This week at Flex and Flow we started with a simple stair test to identify the issue, then used hip 90/90s and a knees over toes stretch to retest and confirm β€” because when the right muscles get targeted, you feel the difference immediately.

The real work comes down to two areas most people completely overlook: the hips and the ankles.
When these joints are restricted, the knee absorbs all the stress they should be handling β€” and that's when pain sets in.

In the session we worked through:
πŸ”Ή Glute Stretch β€” Releasing the hip to take load off the knee
πŸ”Ή Internal Rotation β€” Restoring hip mobility that most people have lost
