We love all of our patients, but every once in a while, you form a special bond with one. Loretta was one of those special patients. Alaina & Shawn were like surrogate family to her. They would visit with her even when she wasn't on our service. One of Alaina's kids had to write about a special person in her life. She picked Loretta.
Loretta left this Bugs Bunny wall hanging for Shawn when she passed last month. We're going to hang it in one of our clinics so we'll always remember Loretta as the extra Grandma she was.

Today marks the longest day of 2023. Today we think of our friends, family, and patients who are living with Alzheimer's. Days can be long and trying for patients and their caregivers. Moments of laughter and joy are treasured. Thank you to our friends at American House for supporting the Alzheimer's Association to raise money and awareness of this terrible disease that steals people away so slowly. Hug your loved ones today.
