University of Saint Joseph's Women of Wellness

University of Saint Joseph's Women of Wellness WOW leaders have learned the basics of prevention, college wellness and presentation skills and address issues in diversity.

The WOW Program seeks to make students aware of the issues associated with unhealthy behaviors through education and creative programming in an effort to assist students’ life skills to make healthier life-style choices. WOW leaders are trained on basic peer counseling skills including active listening, empathic responding, problem solving, ethics of a peer health educator and referral skills. We are trained in specific physical and mental health content areas. Our involvement in the program provides us with an opportunity to come together socially and gain life skills, leadership, responsibility, organization and networking.
