When feeling overwhelmed with a project try picking one small area in the room or a small drawer to start with.

Caralyn helped me regain a sense of organization and calmness in my apartment and in my life, and after working with her I feel that I control my apartment space rather than being controlled by it. My anxiety and a lot of emotional baggage from my divorce were huge barriers to me organizing my apartment. Caralyn gave me a set of tools that helped me in our time together to organize better, and I have also been able to apply them in other areas of my life. Caralyn was sensitive to my anxiety and ADHD. She checked in with me about how the tasks were making me feel and whether I was needing an emotional or physical break, whether I was drinking water, and whether anxiety was a reason for me keeping old objects. Several times at the beginning of our time together I made the statement that I was keeping something because my ex-spouse had bought it. Caralyn helped me to realize how common a theme that was, and I was able to let go of some old baggage and fetters that I really hadn't acknowledged I was carrying around. My apartment is mine, and the things that remain will support me in the next successful stage of my life. Thank you so much Caralyn!

Let’s talk about collections. It’s spring that means Release the PEEPS!!!!! I have been collecting peeps for many years ( non edible kind). Now I’m ready to downsize so I can really appreciate my collection. So why am I becoming so emotional when having to let go of items I don’t love. For me.. it is because peeps are part of my identity. I know it sounds weird. But it is true. I love when friends and family reach out to me when they see peeps. Collecting peep stuff is what I’m known for by my friends and family. But just because I love my collection does not mean that I should allow it to take over the house year after year. So today I make some really hard choices and will start to sell some of my peep items. Wish me luck!

BODY DOUBLING!!!! What is it? How can it help me if I struggle with ADD/ADHD get organized?

Body doubling is someone who sits with a person with ADHD as they complete tasks that might be challenging.

Those with ADD/ADHD struggle with staying on task and staying focus, especially if it is a task they are not interested in. They will move from one unfinished task to another. The person who is the body double is like an anchor, helping the person to stay focus and on task.

Wow, January has flown by. Does anyone else love looking at all of the different bins and baskets online or in the stores to help get your items organized, or is it just me? If organization is one of your New Year's resolutions than you are in the right spot! January is all about healthy home and healthy you. But, before you start buying lots of bins, you must first have a goal and a plan with scheduled time to actually complete your goal, or you will end up with good intentions and a corner of your room filled with organizing bins and baskets that just sit there. Let me know if this is you! Don't worry, we have all been there.

Happy New Year! 2020 was a rough year and many people are looking forward to forgetting the year. 2020 is not a year to forget, but a year that brings all the problems our society was ignoring to focus. We enter the New Year appreciating what we’ve learned in 2020. I for one move into 2021 with a better appreciation for my friends and family. I also started my business and finally started to take my mental and physical health more seriously. I look forward to growing more as a person and being more mindful of my choices and decisions. 2021 will be Clear, Calm, organized!!!

Fullfilling your purpose. We all have a purpose in life, a role to fill that brings us the most joy and pride. Imagine not being recognized or not being able to fill your role. This is what causes doubt and depression. I can’t imagine not being able to help people. Well, your items also feel this way. I know this might sound corny, but how would you feel if you were a pot that was meant to be cooked in and the kitchen is where you shine, but you live in a cardboard box hidden in a basement. It is so important to be in an environment where your able to fulfill your role and shine. Don’t be afraid to pass items on so that they may shine and fulfill there purpose in a new environment.
