Tips for weight loss you can start doing NOW that do not include counting calories 👇🏽⁣

💧 Make sure to stay hydrated! The part of your brain that is responsible for interpreting hinder signals is also responsible for interpreting thirst signals! This can often result in mixed messages. Staying hydrated means your signals are less likely to get mixed up and you’re less likely to snack mindlessly.⁣

🍳 Include a source of protein at every meal. Start basing every meal around a protein source. By prioritizing this, it ensures you’re not only increasing protein intake for muscle growth but you’re also increasing your feelings of fullness (satiety). Protein is the most satiating macronutrient and allows you to feel full and satisfied!⁣

🥬 Include volume foods at every main meal that will help fill you up without added calories: This includes most veggies which are also high in fiber to help with satiety as well! My favorites include lettuce, spinach, tomatoes, cucumber, zucchini noodles, cauliflower rice, etc. ⁣

🏃🏻‍♀️ Move your body every day. Get some sort of activity in for at least 30 minutes! Preferably an hour if you can. Strength training is my personal favorite. The main reason being increasing muscle mass which in turn speeds up metabolism, supports your joints, increases strength, and shapes your body! ⁣

💤 Please, please, PLEASE prioritize sleep and stress management. If these two things are out of wack, it can result in a hormonal imbalance which is all too common now a days. Hormonal imbalances can make it even more difficult to lose weight, not to mention other negative factors like digestive issues, mood imbalances, and skin issues. I can do an entirely different post about sleep tips! ⁣

📲 Last but not least, try logging your food intake in a food tracking app at least for a couple days just to see where you’re starting from. Maybe you’ll notice patterns that you’ve never realized before. Logging my food intake (even temporarily) was one of the most empowering first steps I took towards being in control of my health. ⁣

Let me know if these tips helped you! 🤍

A few ways I’m prioritizing my mental & physical heath for the holidays: 💚⁣⁣
⁣⁣
🥑 Taking an intuitive eating approach this month. I’m all for tracking things to make progress but in this season of my life, I want to take a step back and honor my body more. Which means eating things that make me feel good (no this doesn’t mean junk food)! I naturally lean to healthier options and due to years of experience with tracking macros and calories, I already can visualize portion sizes and know what a specific calorie amount for a single day looks like! ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
🥛 Cutting out all dairy. I’ve been super strict with this for the past month and my skin is thanking me. Never fully realized the extent of how much it was affecting my skin until I fully cut it out of my diet. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
📔 Getting serious about journaling. I’ve always been the type of person that said my thoughts raced too quickly for my hand to write everything down in time. But there is something about taking the time to sit with your feelings and physically write it down that is so comforting to me.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
🛁 Taking bubble baths. Setting the mood, watching a tv show, or meditating. I don’t know why I haven’t started doing this sooner! It’s so relaxing and seriously not talked about enough. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
🏃🏻‍♀️ Going on morning runs. I’ve never been the type to like cardio but I don’t even think of this as cardio for me. It’s more like a stress relief and refresher more than anything else. It also helps me gets my steps in. 🙌🏽⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Maybe this gave you some ideas to implement certain actions in your life! Or maybe you’ve already been doing so. Either way, I hope you’re really prioritizing YOUR well being this month. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Read a quote recently that said,⁣⁣
⁣⁣
“If you don’t make it about you, the universe will.”⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Prioritize you and your future. Life is truly too short to settle for anything but a fulfilling, passionate life that makes you feel alive. Whatever that looks like to you, I hope you find it. 🤍

Some harsh truths about why it’s hard to lose weight:📍⁣

1️⃣ The 500 calories you burned in your 2 hour long pilates class was eaten in less than 10 minutes. Let’s say you workout for 1.5 hours one day and you burn up to 500 calories. The sweat and intensity was there. You pushed your limits and you’re proud of yourself. But then you eat a moderate portion of a healthy pasta recipe you made which is easily 500 calories and you consume it in less than 10 minutes. The time and energy it took to eat that bowl of pasta was way easier than burning that same amount of calories off in the gym. ⁣

2️⃣ Your entire view of fitness and health is skewed by diet culture, fads, and misinformation. I get it, it’s hard to know what information is correct when you are constantly hearing “facts” that contradict each other. But I promise you there is a real sustainable solution to your problems. Focus on methods backed by science or find a coach that is educated by the science behind nutrition and exercise. And most importantly, make sure whatever you choose to follow is SUSTAINABLE. Sure, you can lose the weight on a restrictive meal plan, but what happens when you want to eat anything other than that?⁣

3️⃣ You self-sabotage. It’s truly a mental thing. Maybe you’ve build up a paradigm in your head that you do not deserve to lose the weight or that you think it’s impossible for you to do it. Or maybe you just haven’t found the right time/stress management techniques to help your mental state and mindset. Whatever it is, you deserve a coach that will treat you holistically, including training the mind because that can arguably be the most important “muscle” to train. ⁣

If any of these resonated with you, then congratulations, you’re normal! Everyone has had some sort of struggle with weight loss and it’s important to realize that you are not broken or a lost cause. You are deserving of a healthier you and you CAN actually do it. ⁣

My job as a coach is to help you realize this and guide you to become the best version of yourself. ⁣

Think to yourself and let me know which one of these struggles resonated the most to you! 👇

Long time, no see! 👋🏽⁣

There’s been a lot of huge and uncomfortable shifts in my life right now. But even with the unknown approaching, fitness and health will always be a huge part of my life and I want to keep sharing value with you all. ⁣

Regular fitness and inspirational content will always continue on my page, as well as lifestyle and cute pics sometimes. Because I want to share other sides of me as well besides fitness! ⁣

But I wanted to update you guys since I’ve never gone over a week without posting for an entire year. I’m pretty proud of myself for that but I also have to realize that I’m a human that will have seasons in my life just like my business. ⁣

Some seasons will be more active and some won’t. And both are equally as important. ⁣

In 2022, I want to practice more self-care in aspects other than constant productivity. I know some of you can relate to this but I feel like if I’m not doing something 24/7, I’m behind in some way. ⁣

If I sit down to relax and do something other than my definition of productive (work out, study, biz work, actively doing personal development like reading, etc.) then I feel guilty. Sounds crazy, I know. 😂 And that’s something I’ve acknowledged about myself and want to work on. ⁣

This is a reminder that every season of your life is beautiful and equally as important.⁣

Take a deep breath. There is no clock ticking down that you have to pace your life to. Your path and purpose will find you as long as you seek it and are open to opportunity. 🤍
