Tips for weight loss you can start doing NOW that do not include counting calories 👇🏽
💧 Make sure to stay hydrated! The part of your brain that is responsible for interpreting hinder signals is also responsible for interpreting thirst signals! This can often result in mixed messages. Staying hydrated means your signals are less likely to get mixed up and you’re less likely to snack mindlessly.
🍳 Include a source of protein at every meal. Start basing every meal around a protein source. By prioritizing this, it ensures you’re not only increasing protein intake for muscle growth but you’re also increasing your feelings of fullness (satiety). Protein is the most satiating macronutrient and allows you to feel full and satisfied!
🥬 Include volume foods at every main meal that will help fill you up without added calories: This includes most veggies which are also high in fiber to help with satiety as well! My favorites include lettuce, spinach, tomatoes, cucumber, zucchini noodles, cauliflower rice, etc.
🏃🏻♀️ Move your body every day. Get some sort of activity in for at least 30 minutes! Preferably an hour if you can. Strength training is my personal favorite. The main reason being increasing muscle mass which in turn speeds up metabolism, supports your joints, increases strength, and shapes your body!
💤 Please, please, PLEASE prioritize sleep and stress management. If these two things are out of wack, it can result in a hormonal imbalance which is all too common now a days. Hormonal imbalances can make it even more difficult to lose weight, not to mention other negative factors like digestive issues, mood imbalances, and skin issues. I can do an entirely different post about sleep tips!
📲 Last but not least, try logging your food intake in a food tracking app at least for a couple days just to see where you’re starting from. Maybe you’ll notice patterns that you’ve never realized before. Logging my food intake (even temporarily) was one of the most empowering first steps I took towards being in control of my health.
