Proceeds from the sale of the Pride edition of CATENA will benefit Circa: Q***r Histories Festival, presented by the Los Angeles-based One Institute during LGBTQ+ History Month in October. ⁠

Circa is a month-long showcase of history, arts and cultural programs honoring the trailblazing contributions of the LGBTQ+ community. Now in its fourth year, Circa is the first and only q***r histories festival in the United States.⁠

One Institute is the longest-running non-profit LGBTQ+ organization in the country.⁠

WESTERN STARS: from the l.a.Eyeworks archives, an inspiring, one-of-a-kind work from 1974 by the late L.A.-based artist Bill Gale, who crafted extraordinary functional objects, among other creative pursuits. ⁠

G*i Gherardi most likely acquired this from Bill, but other details are scarce. We know Bill’s name appears in the records of Roger Wong’s gallery in Los Angeles called the “Los Angeles Museum of Art,” along with the work of his spouse, Gayle Gale. * We welcome any remembrances and details of Bill and his work in the comments below, with gratitude. *⁠
