In honor of Autism Awareness Month, we want to take a moment to recognize the caregivers whose dedication often goes unseen but never unfelt. Your work is relentless, rooted in patience, strength, and an unwavering place of love.

You advocate, you comfort, you problem‑solve, you celebrate every milestone—big or small. You carry the weight of challenges while creating space for joy, growth, and possibility.

Today, and every day, we honor you. Your commitment shapes lives, strengthens families, and builds a more understanding world. Thank you for all you give, all you carry, and all the love you pour into the journey.

You make a difference, and it matters

IAT couldn’t be prouder of our exceptional BCBAs (Board Certified Behavior Analysts) and BAITs (Behaviorists Analyst in Training). As a parent of a kiddo with profound autism who has navigated far too many ABA providers, I can say with full confidence: this team is the real deal.

They don’t just know their craft — they live it. They collaborate seamlessly with like‑minded professionals, deliver meaningful results, and do it all while treating every client and team member with unwavering dignity and respect.

What you’re seeing here is a genuine, mission‑driven team that shows up, stands out, and makes a difference

Autism Parents and Caregivers — You’re Invited!

Join us this Thursday, April 9, from 6:30–8:30 pm for our very first Spectrum Social, a relaxed and welcoming meet‑up designed just for you.

Drop your kiddo off at the Sensory Gym for supervised play with our trained professionals while you connect with other parents and caregivers in a supportive, judgment‑free environment at the Life Skills Center.
Here’s what we have planned:
- Pizza served at both locations
- Sensory bags for kiddos at the Sensory Gym
- Mocktails for parents and caregivers at the Life Skills Center
- Door prizes throughout the evening
- Parent resource and swag bags

This kickoff event is all about building community. It’s a chance to meet others who understand your journey, learn about helpful resources, and share your ideas so we can better support your family in future events. RSVP is a must for kiddos attending the fun at the Sensory Gym.

We’d love to see you there and start this new tradition together. If you are not able to make this event, a second Spectrum Social will be held on Saturday, April 18 between 3:30 - 5:30 pm.

We are excited to invite all IAT clients and caregivers to our upcoming event. This gathering is designed to offer connection, support, and a welcoming space for families impacted by autism. You are also welcome to bring a friend who may be interested in learning more about our future Spectrum Social events.

To ensure we provide the highest quality experience—with the proper number of trained staff available for care and support—it is essential that all participants RSVP in advance. Your confirmation helps us prepare thoughtfully and create a safe, engaging environment for everyone attending.

We look forward to spending time together and continuing to build a strong, supportive community.

Today is Profound Autism Awareness Day. We recognize that April 2 is widely known as Autism Awareness Day, but that broader label often overlooks a group whose needs are more complex and whose voices are too often unheard. Profound autism refers to individuals on the autism spectrum who require significant, lifelong support in daily living. This may include limited or no spoken language, substantial cognitive differences, and a need for continuous assistance to ensure safety, communication, and meaningful engagement with the world. These individuals are not defined by their challenges—they are defined by their humanity, their potential, and their right to be seen.

Profound Autism Day exists to acknowledge and honor those who require the highest level of care and support. These individuals are the entire reason IAT exists. While ABA facilities can be found on nearly every corner, few are willing to take on the most complex cases—cases that require more training, more patience, and more time to show progress. The reality is that complexity can impact profits, and too many organizations choose the easier path.

But progress does happen. Growth does happen. And individuals with profound autism deserve the same attention, respect, and opportunities as anyone else on the spectrum. That is why IAT is extremely picky about who we hire and keep on team. We only want the best therapists with not just knowledge, but the attributes and genuine compassion, drive and care every child deserves.

When IAT was founded 10 years ago, there were already plenty of ABA facilities. Yet the behaviorist who inspired and oversaw the organizations my son attended repeatedly turned us away—stating he was “too much,” “too old,” or simply not worth the effort. The list of reasons was long, but the message was clear: his needs exceeded what others were willing to provide.

Profound Autism Awareness Day is a reminder that no one should ever be considered “too much.” Every individual, regardless of the level of support they require, deserves to be valued, supported, and included.

About IAT

IAT offers in-home Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA Therapy), Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology, etc. By mid-October we will be opening our first clinic in West Jordan. Clients will have to option to choose in-home services, clinic services, or both. Our new clinic will be the first of it’s kind in Utah! It will include a large sensory gym that will also offer open gym times, special events, birthday parties, support groups, and more for families and individuals with special needs.

Our unique program provides parents with the option to integrate science-based autism therapies into their child’s program plans. IAT also understands the importance of inflammation and gut health in behavior and focus issues; so we work along with Functional Nutrition, Functional Medicine, and Positive Psychology professionals to spot strengths, identify barriers, and address the root causes of health and behavioral issues that are often overlooked in individuals under the autism spectrum.

We understand that to best serve each individual client, and simplify life for families, it is important to integrate all autism therapy services and include the caregiver and family in the development of each client program plan. Through our collaborative team efforts, and networking with other therapy services, we will strive to provide a safe, effective, judgment free, and supportive therapy environment that enables our clients to get the most out of their autism services and improve quality of life.
