Happy Easter from The Farmers Greatest Asset ✝️🌅
On this day of resurrection and renewal, we’re reminded that faith is at the heart of every season. Through the long days, the uncertain weather, and the quiet waiting—there is trust in God’s plan.
As Paul Harvey once said, “So God made a farmer.” And He made them strong, faithful, and steadfast—called to care for the land and provide for others.
Today we celebrate new beginnings, renewed purpose, and the strength of those who steward the land.
As you gather with your family today, may you find joy in the simple moments and love deeply those around you.
He is risen—and so is the hope that carries us forward every season. 🌱

Some mornings the road disappears under snow, the wind cuts through every layer, and the work waiting in the yard feels heavier than the weather. But a farmer doesn’t measure the day by comfort.
We measure it by calling.
Long before the world wakes up, the truck warms up, the feed wagon rolls out, and the cattle are waiting. Snow or sunshine, the work continues—because growing food isn’t just a job. It’s a responsibility.
A farmer’s greatest asset isn’t the land, the equipment, or even the cattle.
It’s faith.
Faith that the work matters.
Faith that the storms will pass.
Faith that the seed planted today will feed someone tomorrow.
Through frozen mornings and long days, resilience grows alongside the crops and livestock. Every chore, every mile down a snow-covered road, every load of feed delivered is part of something bigger.
Farming is a calling—to steward the land, care for animals, and provide food for families everywhere.
And that calling is worth every cold morning.

Sometimes on the farm you just have to do what you have to do.
At the beginning of this week we were fighting mud and getting stuck just trying to load beans out of the bag. It’s one of those reminders that farming doesn’t always go according to plan. You adapt, figure it out, and keep moving.
Days like this also remind me of a farmer’s greatest asset — perspective and gratitude. The mud will dry up, the work will get done, and we’ll keep pushing forward.
Our biggest blessing is that everyone is healthy and able to keep going. And I won’t lie… the markets helping my mood a little bit doesn’t hurt either.
Farming teaches you patience, resilience, and how to count your blessings along the way.

Some pictures don’t say much on their own… but the story behind them sure does.
The skid loader bucket ended up in the feed truck.
The chain and tractor are here to dig that bucket back out.
Those cows? They’re standing there staring at me because they’re hungry.
And then there’s Dad’s face… when it’s Sunday morning and your son wants to go to church.
So you take a deep breath.
You send your son on to church, because that matters to him. You pause for a moment, give thanks, and test a little faith of your own. Somehow it will all work out—just like it usually does.
Farming has a way of reminding you that not everything goes according to plan… but there are still plenty of blessings to be thankful for.

What a gift this week is.🌴☀️
Leah and I are feeling incredibly blessed to be on the beautiful island of Grand Cayman with our friends at Beck's Hybrids. Opportunities like this don’t happen by accident — they’re built on strong partnerships, shared values, and a whole lot of trust.

At The Farmer’s Greatest Asset, we know that none of this is possible without the farmers, families, and ag partners who believe in what we do every day. You’re the reason we get to have experiences like this. We don’t take that lightly.

Time away like this gives us a chance to recharge, reflect, and come back even more focused on serving the people who make agriculture what it is. We’re grateful for the relationships, the friendships, and the faith that guide it all.

Feeling thankful. Feeling refreshed. And most of all — feeling blessed. 🙏🌊

The kids get to choose what we do for their birthday. It’s about making memories and experiences.

🎄☕️
This morning looks different than it once did.
I’m sitting with my coffee, the Christmas tree glowing in the quiet, waiting for our children to wake up.

Years ago this house would have been buzzing by 5 a.m.—footsteps pounding, whispers turning into shouts, joy spilling over before the sun even thought about rising.

Now, there’s stillness.

And in that stillness, I’m reminded of something farmers know deep in their bones:

Seasons change—and that’s not loss, it’s legacy.
The early mornings don’t disappear.
They transform.

What was once excitement becomes reflection.
What was once noise becomes gratitude.
What was once rushing becomes presence.

Farming teaches us this better than anything else—
to honor the season you’re in without trying to rush back to the one that’s passed or sprint ahead to the next.

This quiet moment?
This is part of the harvest too.
Your greatest asset isn’t just what you produce.
It’s the life you’re building in the spaces between the work.

THE FARMER'S GREATEST ASSET
I was airlifted with a fractured hip, broken wrist, and a brain injury. For 9 months, I couldn't walk. But that accident saved my life.

Not because of the surgeries or the recovery. Because it forced me to stop. To pray. To realize that everything I knew about running this farm was locked in my head - and we almost lost it all because of it.

My wife, a physician, and our three kids were left scrambling through decisions I'd always made. The farm that's been in my family for over 100 years nearly slipped through our fingers because I thought I had to carry it all alone.

That's when I realized: YOU are your farm's greatest asset. Not the land. Not the equipment. YOU. And if something happens to you, what happens to everything you've built?

I created a workbook to help you document what's in your head before it's too late.

YOU Are the Farm’s Greatest Asset
Every sunrise, every season, every harvest…
There is one thing that keeps the farm alive: YOU.
The land may feed the world, but it cannot run itself.
Your strength, your dedication, your resilience—
that is what keeps the farm moving forward.
But even the greatest asset needs care.
Your health,
your well-being,
your mind and body
are the foundation of everything you do.
Choosing wellness isn’t selfish—
it’s essential.
Your farm depends on you.
Your family depends on you.
YOU depend on you.
So take time to rest.
Nourish your body.
Support your mental and emotional health.
Honor the work you do by taking care of the person doing it.
Because the truth is simple:
The farm can’t run without you.
And you deserve to thrive—not just survive.
The Farmer’s Greatest Asset… is the farmer.
