Music Therapy is the specialized use of music by a credentialed professional in order to achieve measurable non-musical outcomes in communication, cognition and learning, psychosocial adjustments, motor, and sensory processing. A Board Certified Music Therapist uses music interventions such as singing, movement, instrument playing, listening, improvising, and song writing to help children reach their individual goals. Music To Grow On was established in 2000 to provide Music Therapy services to children with special needs. It is now expanding to offer more services including Mommy and Me groups, mixed ability groups, individual sessions, and music lessons.

WE ESCAPED!! Our team went to the PanIQ Escape Room and had so much fun. Because our team is too big for one room, we divided and completed two different rooms, Wizard Trials and Pirates of Tortuga. Wizards escaped with 12:04 minutes left and Pirates escaped with 7:08 minutes left. A great team building night!

Please join us in welcoming Christina to Music To Grow On! We are excited to have you on our team, Christina. 🎼

Christina received her Bachelor of Music Therapy from Pacific University in Forest Grove Oregon in 2023. As a student, she gained experience with populations including adults with Traumatic Brain Injuries, children in early development settings, older adults in memory care, and adults in a short term mental health facility.

Christina went on to complete her internship at Haley Music Therapy, a private practice in Chico, California in May 2025. She worked with adults and children with a variety of Intellectual, and developmental disabilities, as well as adults with Traumatic brain injuries, and older adults in a virtual Parkinson’s choir.

Christina is excited to be a part of the Music To Grow On team, and learn from and with clients!

Welcome back to Sacramento, Gigi! We are so excited you are here. ⭐️

Gigi Siu, MT-BC (she/her/hers) graduated with a Bachelor of Music in Music Therapy, Piano and Organ Performance from William Carey University in May of 2016. She completed her music therapy internship at Music To Grow On under the supervision and direction of Bessie Barth and then joined the company in September of 2016.

Gigi grew up in Hong Kong, and she is also certified with the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music. Gigi plays piano, organ, hand bells and guitar. She has four years of experience in teaching private piano lessons and providing piano accompaniment to various instrumentalists and vocalists.

She gained experience as she worked with individuals diagnosed with autism, intellectual disabilities, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, developmental delays, dementia, brain damage, Angelman Syndrome and other various disabilities during her internship and study in college.

Gigi joined Music to Grow On in 2016.
