Celebrated the grand opening of the Kartar Health brick and mortar location, a beautiful and healing space dedicated to helping patients through Integrative & Lifestyle Medicine. Congrats to our fearless leader for always dreaming big and encouraging all of those in her team to have the courage and confidence to follow their dreams.

Going back to my roots…

Traditional Paneer Makhni

I love Indian food but don’t cook it as much as I want to. This was a quick and tasty weekend treat that is simple to put together.

The dish is so flavourful. The combination of spices created a symphony of smells and tastes… yum! 😋

I wanted to make the “traditional” version first to get an idea of flavours. And now I am definitely going to try this same dish as a plant-based version for a healthier dinner.

Some substitutions will be:
-Tofu for paneer
-Cashew cream for Cream
-Coconut yogurt for regular yogurt

Plant-based Tacos - 2 ways:
Chorizo-spiced Tofu Tacos
Refried Black Beans Tacos

These are delicious plant-based alternatives that will surely wow anyone. The spices in the Tofu Tacos give a smoky spicy flavour. And the Refried Black Beans are really simple but full of flavour.

I love pairing my Tacos with veggies sautéed in a wok to give a smoky charred flavour. And you can’t forget one of my household staples - 4 ingredient Cashew Sour Cream (you won’t believe there’s no dairy!)

Got to experience some delicious plant-based eats at Community Restaurant today 😋

The Smoked Salmon Carrot Lox was so good! Wonderful complex flavours bursting in every bite! I loved their use of carrots as the “salmon”. Definitely something I’ll try to replicate at home.

Tried some old school dishes last night …
These patties had me dreaming of the one-dolla patties from the rec centre in high school 😂

Best part? Now that I’m plant-based these babies are 100% vegan AND still 100% delicious! 😋

Eating plant-based doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice flavour. And it can be easy to make.

I’m super excited about my new role at Kartar Health as a Culinary Medicine Physician where I merge my 2 passions - food & medicine.
