With Measurement-Based Care (MBC), how often should you assign measures?

The frequency that patients complete self-reported outcome measures has an observed impact on overall outcomes, with regular assessments increasing effect size and treatment outcomes.

That’s why Dr. Elizabeth Connors recommends a check-in assessment at the beginning of each regular session, with no further than a month in between measures, to encourage consistent reporting of measures, discussion of measure results in sessions, and adjustments to treatment informed by patient-reported data.

With regular assessments, clinicians can adapt treatment based on real-time feedback, improving patient outcomes and experiences.

Our Story

Greenspace is a digital platform that improves mental health treatment outcomes by integrating technology and clinical research into practice. Greenspace has developed two important solutions to systematic challenges for healthcare organizations, mental health therapists, family physicians and patients.

1. Progress Measurement: Greenspace has built a platform used by mental health therapists and organizations to automate and improve upon what has traditionally been a manual process. Progress measurement is a core part of evidence-based psychotherapy and is one of the primary drivers of patient improvement. The Greenspace platform increases patient engagement, facilitates collaboration with other healthcare providers and generates important aggregated data for organizations.

2. Matching Program: Greenspace works with primary care providers to match patients struggling with mental health issues to the therapist most likely to be successful for them. Through this program Greenspace is able to drastically improve the patient experience, better support primary care providers and solve system-level challenges. For patients in need of psychotherapy, Greenspace eliminates wait-times, provides hands-on support (from a team of case managers), and improves collaboration between providers.
