Omg!! I loved this book😍😍😍

It Didn’t Start With You by Mark Wolynn is a must read by all trauma & healing enthusiasts. It’s a book about how inherited family trauma shapes who we are & how to end the cycle✊. In my opinion, it’s one of the fundamental books on the topic🔥🔥🔥.

It’s divided in 3 parts:
👉The Web of Family Trauma
👉The Core Language Map
👉Pathways to Reconnection

He does an outstanding job at explaining how Intergenerational trauma is not just passed down through gene expression 🧬 but also through patterns, behaviour &, one of the most important aspects, the way we talk to ourselves🗣️

In this book, he teaches us about the Core language approach. He shows us how the things we tell ourselves may not only come from our parents, but can go up many generations. This book is packed with examples of how this may occur for us to better understand😁

He then goes on and gives us exercises✍️ which guide us step by step on how we can heal ourselves & our lineage no matter what our present circumstances or relationships to our parents is. In addition, he gives us so many solutions to different issues that we may be facing in the present✅

This was a powerful book and even though I’m quite knowledgeable on the subject, I learned a lot. I believe that we all need this book in our lives & that it should be mandatory to read in our educational curriculum📚

The world would be a much better place if we could not only understand ourselves better but also our ancestors. Without this knowledge, we continue to pass on the trauma to the upcoming generations and pain prevails🤕

If you want to be the one to break the cycle of trauma in your family, this book is for you❤️‍🩹

I give it two thumbs up👍 & highly recommend it🤩

I’ve really had to slow down lately …

I kept saying that I couldn’t find my peace as I had it before the pandemic…it’s been an intense 5 years🥴

As soon as the lockdowns were implemented, I went hard into survival mode & my CNS has been in stress response mode ever since🫨

I thought I would find peace if I brought solutions forward & implemented them…& this is true, solutions are key but not when they come from a trauma response…I was crashing trying to save everyone. I have to listen to what my soul wants & needs but to do that I need to rid myself of all this trauma its been buried under🫠

I thought that I could heal my now open wounds as I empowered others to heal but I can’t😔…I need to just focus on myself…I need to find clarity so that I can see within the storm🌪️, until the dust settles, & then calmly proceed to what it is I am guided to do👉

And that’s exactly what I’ve been doing in the last couple of months…I’ve been doing strictly ME. Every decision I make is made when I am well rooted & grounded. No more running on automatic & empty…I finally understood, I’m going to drown if I continue on the road I was on…it’s not sustainable.🥵

I’ve made big changes, I’m no longer focused on the end game, I don’t know what’s going to happen anyway. I’m here now and the moment is all that counts🤷🏻‍♀️

Breathwork, meditation, gym, clean foods, sooting music with high vibrating frequencies, enjoying my kids, care giving without having to administer medis & best of all, I’m actually writing the book of my story as a nurse whistleblower…that process in itself is truly helping me integrate the trauma accumulated within the fight. I realize I needed to do this in order to move forward🤔

I haven’t been living by my words, the stress of having so much responsibility on my shoulders has blinded me from seeing that👀

As of right now, I’m exactly where I want to be. I feel great & that peace I’ve been mourning for years…I feel it within…it’s slowly coming back. I’m so happy & contempt in my present right now✨

I no longer fear what the future holds for us, I know deep down that I’ll be able to handle whatever comes like a champ🔥…I am enough🙏

I’m no longer worried about my cases, whatever is meant to be will be. All my attention goes into bringing my CNS into rest & digest mode😌

And for all the 100s of thousands in debt that I have & that are coming my way…it’s ok, I believe in abundance & how I will always have enough, what is mine will come my way💯

I never thought it would happen but I absolutely love my life once again😍…I didn’t think it could happen in this life time.😀

Im exactly where I’m meant to be…walking along my sacred path…I’m so blessed💫

Incoming book review📚…lol…took this pic trying to show you guys I was bored by this one😜

Intergenerational trauma is real & I don’t know too much about it so when I heard about “Ancestral Healing” by Sylvia Hill, I had to read it🤓. I’ve been wanting to get this book for a long time so I was really excited when my daughter Naomi got it for me for Christmas🤗

I’ve been wanting to increase my knowledge on the subject in order to share it with others but also to apply it to my own life. I was super disappointed, I honestly didn’t really learn anything, the information was very general & simplified, there was no depth to it😒

Not only that but it was annoyingly repetitive. I believe she stated what can be used to create an altar for your ancestors like 30 times throughout this short book, it feels like she did a lot of copy and paste🤔

I’ve also come on long way on my spiritual journey💫 & am open to new things but this was too far out there with no stories or examples to back any of it up…although I truly liked learning about how different cultures communicate with their ancestors through all kinds of different beliefs, that part was cool🔥

I did get a few ideas on how I can create my own altar to honour and strengthen the relationship with my ancestors or loved ones who have passed but I feel like a quick google search would have given me the same results🤷🏻‍♀️

It was a very easy read. It feels like it should have been more of an article or a research for high school than an informative book on the subject. Because of all of that, I don’t recommend this book, I feel like it was a waste of time & money💸

I give it 2 stars on 5 ⭐️⭐️ and even that might be too much…lol😆

I don’t think I’ve ever given such a bad review but I guess there’s a first for everything 🤷🏻‍♀️

Can schizophrenia be cured?🤔

Of all the mental health disorders, schizophrenia may just be the most devastating to be diagnosed with, especially if the symptoms include psychosis.

We’ve been told by the medical industry that it’s a chemical imbalance and/or damage to the frontal cortex part of the brain. Doctors say that it’s irreversible and that medications must be taken for life to manage symptoms…but is this true?🧐

According to Patrick Holford, author of Optimum Nutrition For The Mind, this is false. In this book, he states that there are many ways to end up with the symptoms and behaviours that will get you this label.

As many of you may know already, most individuals diagnosed with schizophrenia have some sort of history of trauma and often a family history of it so it’s important to empower yourself with the tools and knowledge needed to manage these destructive coping mechanisms. I teach these in my HEAL program which I highly recommend. You may sign up for online or in person. I also have a free workshop called “Stand In Your Truth” that is a preview to my program...you can sign up at www.LightingUpDarkCorners.com

But something that is less spoken of, or even completely ignored, is that symptoms can also be caused or enhanced by nutritional deficiencies🍊. There are a number of different issues that can be investigated that may improve a schizophrenics life and/or even completely correct the disorder. This is obviously not always the case but it’s definitely worth looking into

These issues are:
👉 Blood sugar problems
👉Essential fat imbalances
👉Too many oxidants and not enough antioxidants
👉Abnormal methylation and high homocysteine
👉Niacin deficiency
👉Pyroluria and the need for zinc
👉Wheat and other allergies

Some interesting findings:
👉The breaking down, or stripping of essential fats from brain membranes is often overactive in people with schizophrenia and leads to greater need for these fats.

👉80% of schizophrenics are deficient in essential fatty acids (EFAs).

👉It has been shown that supplementing with EFAs, including supplements of zinc, B6, B3, Vitamin C and Omega-6 fats, produced significant improvement in schizophrenic symptoms.

👉Vitamin C has been shown to reduce the symptoms of schizophrenia in research trials.

👉Lacking B12 is another risk factor for both schizophrenia and depression.
👉Niacin deficiency induces schizophrenia-like symptoms and large amounts often reverse these symptoms.

👉The failure to check for pyroluria (excess of HPL) and zinc deficiency is a tremendous oversight within psychiatry: zinc is, after all, probably the most commonly deficient mineral.

👉Many people with mental health problems are sensitive to gluten, especially wheat gluten, which can bring on all sorts of symptoms of mental illness.

👉Foods/chemicals that produced the most severe mental reactions were wheat, milk, sugar, to***co and eggs.

The Starting Points To Tackling A Diagnosis of Schizophrenia:
👉Balance your blood sugar

👉Check for, and correct, essential fat imbalances

👉Up your intake of antioxidants and especially Vitamin C to 3g/day

👉Check your homocysteine level and change diet and lifestyle, and supplement homocysteine-lowering nutrients accordingly.

👉Consider high-dose niacin, B12 and folic acid supplements.

👉Get checked for HPL to see whether you have pyroluria and, if so, supplement extra zinc and B6.

👉Check yourself for wheat, milk and other allergies.

👉Last but not least, sign up for my HEAL program to learn how to manage your big emotions and reconnect to your tru self. Sign up here😀

I strongly believe that all mental health disorders stem from some sort of trauma therefore with the right tools and knowledge can be well managed, without drugs, and even cured…But you don’t have to take my word for it, empower yourself & do your own research 🧐 When there’s a will, there’s a way🤷🏻‍♀️Whether you believe you can of you believe you can’t you will live accordingly and prove yourself right😳…so You better believe it, you can heal👊❤️‍🩹💫 mentalhealth

Show me what music you listen to and I’ll tell you where you’re heading…no joke🤷🏻‍♀️

Did you know that music causes vibrations🫨 that are then absorbed by your brain & sent to every organ in your body?😮…Better make sure those vibrations are healthy👍

Your health doesn’t only depend on what you eat, it’s also important to be aware of what you watch & listen to.
When I was younger, the music I listened to was very different than what I listen to now & it is still evolving🌱

Here’s what I experienced…

When I was young, the music I listened to told me not give a 💩 & to f&$@ the world, it told me to drink my pain away which is exactly what I did🥴…it kept me in that loop for decades. It was programming me to remain a victim & love it there😳

When I started my healing journey & got sober, I learned about the power of words & music so I started listening to independent rap artists. I dreamed of a better world hence listened to revolutionaries like Immortal Technique, who was still quite low vibration, & then found Lowkey, Akala & k-Rink….they literally made a freedom fighter out of me😏…they gave me the power to speak up with their empowering lyrics🔥🔥🔥

Now that I’m working on healing my Central Nervous System from the last 4 years of intense survival it had to endure🥵, I feel as though I need something even more high vibrating to bring me peace & calmness🧘🏻‍♀️

I just found out about Finnikin, I love that it’s mostly instrumental & he throws a few empowering words into the mix❤️. I could feel my body releasing tension when I listen to it….sooooo soothing😌

The music you listen to is actually programming you with its lyrics & vibrations. Are you being programmed to become your best self or to become your worst self?🤔

Growth is a process which has many steps, it takes time to change. It took me decades to come to a place where I can no longer stand the music I use to be so passionate about so be patient with yourself🤲

Just make sure that you’re aware👀…is the music you are listening to bringing you up or is it bringing you down? If it’s the latter, maybe it’s time to switch things up a little & add some better tunes to your healing journey❤️‍🩹

PS: please share any great music suggestions so that I, along with others, can add them to our collection🙏

What does “ Braving healing” mean?🤔

I was so humbled to be a part of this short documentary. The Gatehouse ( ) is where my healing journey began and I will never forget the love❤️ and support they brought to my chaotic life 🙏

Some of those beautiful souls💫, which are all childhood sexual abuse survivors or shall I say over comers, had the courage to answer the above question🔥🔥🔥

Check out their answers below👇👇👇

Just finished reading this gem💎
“How To Be An Adult In Relationships”

This is the kind of book that should be mandatory in high school📚. If it was, we would have so much more peace, our overall health would highly improve and we would be much more prosperous. The world would be such a better place💫

We all have childhood wounds from our primary relationships, our parents mainly, amongst other close caregivers😢. This is not to say that they were bad and/or didn’t do their best🤷🏻‍♀️. We carry these wounds into our adult relationships where we try to fix them through others & that’s when things can get messy🫠

Relationships can be difficult for anyone but especially for those who didn’t have the best of example as kids. This book teaches us how to heal the wounds and take the steps necessary to eventually arrive to adulthood😀

In the book, David Richo talks about the 5 keys to mindful loving❤️ which we all need to our core. He calls them the 5 A’s; attention, acceptance, appreciation, affection and allowing. He does a great job at teaching us exactly what that means.

I loved how the book shows us the whole picture of what a healthy relationship looks like from start, going as far as our early years, all the way to end of our adult ones, even giving tools for after the break up or loss of someone going into grievance and how natural and crucial of a process it is…it was beautifully done😍. The book is also equipped with many examples, exercises and practices that can be done with a partner and/or by yourself✅.

My favourite part of the book by far is the Annexe: The Steps and Shifts of Mindful Grief. There is a lot of grieving to be done when working on healing those part of ourselves that may have not gotten the love that we needed, David did an exceptional job at showing us through the grieving process. I got some good gold nuggets out of it & I teach about grief in my program myself…grateful to have found it🙏

This is a critical book that should be read by everyone, I highly highly recommend it⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. It has already helped hundreds of thousands of lives all around the world🌎 . The author did an awesome job at making such a serious and complex matter to be easily understood🔥

We all just want to be loved, this is how we do it❤️❤️❤️
