Attention fertility clinics in Canada! DNAide can now facilitate genetic testing for parents and relatives of your patients.

When I started DNAide I knew that one of the largest gaps in fertility genetics care was for patients who needed PGT-M. These patients often need their parents or other relatives to have genetic testing done so that their PGT-M test can be created. But waitlists for genetics clinics for healthy individuals were often years long. Sometimes family doctors would try to assist, but commonly orders would be turned away, likely due to the complex paperwork being completed incorrectly. In other cases the individual wouldn’t have a family doctor. Regardless of the scenario this could mean significant delays for individuals needing PGT-M, proceeding with a PGT-M test that was less likely to yield conclusive results, or patients opting out of PGT-M altogether.

DNAide is now able to order follow up testing for parents and relatives for autosomal recessive and X-linked recessive conditions. Genetic counselling and informed consent is provided every step of the way. We ensure patients are aware of public and private pay options so they can choose what suits them best. If they don’t have a physician to order testing, we can help.

Emma specializes in preconception fertility genetics. Specifically she loves to “geek out” about embryos, helping people understand increasingly complex information in order to make decisions that are best for them, digging into the ever-evolving data surrounding embryo testing, and working to make the field of fertility inclusive and welcoming to all. Meet Meaghan, DNAide’s Founder!

Meaghan is a Certified Genetic Counselor who specializes in fertility genetics. Specifically she loves helping patients understand the results of their embryo genetic testing. She’s also an expert in genetic causes of infertility and IVF failure.

Meaghan sees herself as a decision-facilitator. She hears patient stories, helps them understand complex genetic information, and based on their unique goals and circumstances helps them decide what next steps they want to take.

As DNAide’s Founder Meaghan is also always looking for new ways to help patients who need better fertility genetics care. She finds creative solutions so she can innovate and expand access to care, specifically in Canada. She also educates providers of fertility medicine, presenting at conferences across North America.

Meaghan lives with her partner and two cats in Toronto, Canada. In her spare time she enjoys playing video games, Dungeons and Dragons, and is learning to grow food in her garden.
