Heart Health Studies

Heart Health Studies We are looking for 18- to 75-year-old volunteers who are overweight or obese, and drink full-sugar soda pop regularly.

Eligible participants must be willing to drink either soy milk, cow’s milk, or full-sugar soda pop for the 6-month duration of the study and attend eight visits at St. Michael’s Hospital, a site of Unity Health Toronto. The first visit will be a screening visit to confirm you are eligible for the study. Participants will have body measurements taken, will be asked to complete a few questionnaires,

and to sample the study beverages. Two of the visits will involve medical imaging (a MRI scan), multiple blood samples, questionnaires, body measurements, and fecal and urine samples. The midway visit will involve body measurements, questionnaires, and a blood and urine sample. All remaining visits will only involve body measurements and questionnaires. Compensation and all study beverages will be provided to participants.
