The Dystonia Medical Research Foundation was founded in 1976 by Samuel and Frances Belzberg of Vancouver, after their daughter was diagnosed with generalized dystonia. The mission of the Dystonia Medical Research Foundation (DMRF) Canada is to advance research for more treatments and ultimately a cure; to promote awareness and education; and to support the needs and well being of affected individu

Join the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) Dystonia Support Group at the Toronto Waterfront Marathon - 5km Charity Challenge, on October 18, 2025.

Have a colleague, friend or family member who loves running? Why not encourage them to run and fundraise for dystonia? Every dollar raised goes toward critical research, as well as programs that bring care, hope, and connection to the dystonia community.

For every registration under the DMRF Canada charity team, $5 goes toward supporting dystonia in Canada.

DMRF Canada is looking for dedicated volunteers to support Bingo World and Gaming Richmond Hill. Your time can make a real difference—every shift helps raise approximately $3,000 in funds for critical dystonia research, awareness, and support programs.

📍Located in Richmond Hill.
⏰ Each shift is 2 hours, and volunteers should be comfortable walking or standing for the full duration, including tasks like tucking in chairs.
💵 Volunteers will receive monetary incentives with an additional travel reimbursement.
🗓️ Commitment of at least six months.
📌 Volunteers who successfully complete 10 bingo sessions within 12 months will receive a honorarium for their commitment and hard work!

Donate Pre-loved Goods for Dystonia! 💙

Join the Toronto Support Group FundDrive 2025, supporting dystonia research and awareness — now through September 7!

The Greater Toronto Area Dystonia Support Group is collecting gently used items — from books and clothing to small furniture — and donating them to Value Village, which will make a financial contribution to DMRF Canada based on the volume collected. These funds will go toward vital dystonia research and community support programs.

📍 Drop-off location: 1 Mountbatten Rd, Thornhill
Pickup available (volunteer drivers needed!)
