Westchester Blood Program Westchester Blood Program is a community organization hosting quarterly blood drives in Westchester, Illinois.

In conjunction with Vitalant (FKA LifeSource), Westchester Blood Program hosts quarterly blood drives in Westchester, Illinois. Since its inception in June 1974, WBP has collected more than 25,000 units of blood from Westchester residents and donors throughout Chicagoland.

Thanks to this wonderful crew from Versiti Blood Center of Illinois, to the Westchester Park District for hosting, and thank YOU, our wonderful community, for showing up to save lives at our Winter Blood Drive earlier this month!

January is usually our slowest drive, but we ended up over our goal with 18 total blood products, helping 46 patients! 🥰

JANUARY IS NATIONAL BLOOD DONOR MONTH!

Due to holiday celebrations, inclement weather and illness, the winter months are often a time of reduced donations and an increased risk for blood shortages. National Blood Donor Month celebrates blood donors and reminds people of the importance of donating blood during this critical time.
