💰 Special Needs Trust Informational Session
Tuesday, April 14th | 6:30–8:00 PM
Hosted by LEL, Gordon Homes will be presenting on types of special needs trusts, when to fund them, and various funding options — all structured to protect federal supports. The presentation runs approximately 45 minutes, followed by time for questions. A light meal will be provided with an RSVP. To register, contact engage@lelhs.com and specify whether you'll be attending in person or virtually. A flyer with more details is attached.

There is a lot change happening in the Special Education world at Westfield Washington Schools. We are here to support you and your family. One way we are doing that, is by partnering with SEPAC and bringing an administrator from each elementary building to join a panel discussion. We are excited for you to meet the staff, meet other families going through this change, and creating connection. We would LOVE to have you there!

By a unanimous vote, the Westfield City Council passed a resolution this evening officially codifying the current disability council to become the Westfield Advisory Council on Disabilities. This resolution continues to lay the groundwork for years to come in the and the .

Now codified, nine members will be appointed to the council to provide input regarding impacts to public safety, accessibility, workforce development, community engagement, and so much more.
As a quickly growing community, this council is now poised to be near the forefront of so many impactful decisions for residents and the disability community.

Happy Disability Awareness Month!

March is one of the most meaningful months of the year for our community, let's kick it off with Tuesday evening!

⭐ March 9 – Westfield City Council votes on codifying the Westfield Advisory Council on Disabilities.

This vote represents a significant procedural step and a commitment to the disability community and all citizens of Westfield and the surrounding township. This is a public declaration that accessibility, community engagement, and the voices of people with disabilities and their families matter in the fabric of our community.

Codification means:
• The Council’s purpose, duties, and authority are formally recognized
• Disability inclusion becomes part of Westfield’s long-term civic structure
• Community voice is embedded in how the City plans and grows

The council will also receive an updated name: Westfield Advisory Council on Disabilities

This milestone reflects years of collaboration among families, self-advocates, city leaders, and community partners who believe Westfield can be a place where everyone belongs.

Yesterday our leadership team gathered together to work on a strategic plan for the rest of 2026 and on. We were able to reflect on a long list of community partners we have built relationships with to join us and have an ongoing list of who we want to meet! We shared stories, focused on areas of improvement, laughed, and had great snacks provided by WFN cannot wait to continue serving our community, meeting new families, and making connections.
