& Donna Elvira contemplates the future of her relationship [or lack of relationship] with the notorious womanizer Don Giovanni from the opera of the same name. So on this Bomb Cyclone Blizzard Hernando Sunday I sang this Italian language aria Mi Tradì sort of stream of consciousness vascillating between wanting to kill him or love him, worry about him or forget him. At the end is a photo of Don Giovanni. So wait for it. Sung with The New York Opera Forum and at the piano. Its a challenging piano part! This is one of my favorite operas. I will be performing it again May 21, 28 and 31st in the tri-state area. DM me for details. Thanks.

Spotlight on Nicky DeFrancesco! He’s 10, but has lots of musical experiences in theater, chorus and band under his belt already. Nicky plays Saxophone.
Clearly loves
He starred in Wonka Jr as Charlie Bucket
Nemo in Finding Nemo Jr
Young Simba in Lion King
Kristoff in Frozen Jr
His next show is Mary Poppins.
And tomorrow 2.1.26 he will be performing at the 6:30pm recital at The Christ Lutheran Church, 32 Pascack Road
This polite and handsome boy has lots of . He may go far in this business if he so desires. "I knew him when...." you may be able to say later when he is a 🌟 . But for now he is wonderful to teach and I am sure a pleasure to work with in a musical production.

Spotlight on Hailey Cardenas. I am so happy that she will be singing at the 2.1.26 recital. She will be showcasing her beautiful renditions of musical theater songs from Phantom and Into the Woods. When she is not singing musical theater she also sings classically and acts. In addition, Hailey is also a competitive dancer and conductor. She has perfect pitch. She is kind, reliable and disciplined. All these positive attributes will help her do well at college. She will be attending Rutgers as a music education major! And will be a fair. helpful and inspirational music teacher someday down the road. Feel free to join us 2.1.26 for the 630pm recital to see Hailey!

Lily is using the mic to prepare for 2.1.26 You're Never Fully Dressed Without a Smile from a wonderful song for kids. Good for kids because its short, moderate range, upbeat and relatable. Intuitively kids know that a geniune smile will share emotional warmth to the person being smiled upon. A true smile can change another person's day for the better. The song also imparts that a positive attitude behind the smile is more important than the kind of clothes you are wearing. So smile, smile, and if you want to sing --- sing too. I know aboit 33 of my students will be doing just that at the upcoming Snow Day reschedule date of 2.1.26 in Woodcliff Lake, NJ. Join us. There will be nerves in the beginning, but poised performances followed by lots of applause and.... SMILES!

Everyone gets nervous before a performance it's normal. Sometimes we all make up excuses why things are going to go wrong in a performance. Understood.

However, 3 simple tips can help you:

1. Practice regularly.
2. Show up for lessons regularly.
3. Acknowledge that you are prepared

I love to repeat the third over and over again.

Plus this favorite mantra of mine can be helpful too:
" I can, I am, I will".

Repeat that....
And complete the statements in your own words. Experiment. Let it flow and see how your own words can empower you!

For example "I can sing, I am singing well "I will sing from the heart at the recital "
