I've been rolling an idea in my head for this Page, and I'm wondering if anyone has feedback for me.

I am most naturally inclined to gift or trade these services. Monetizing this passion has been the most uncomfortable thing. I know a lot of you have reminded me to know my worth, to understand that payment is necessary for time and knowledge.

But I also sincerely believe that "gift medicine", or creating something for someone individually, specifically, and with all the care and love that would go into any keepsake. I feel like my work is better this way, and is received better.

But as I am an all or nothing human, and bad at "business type" dealings, I'm hoping for some advice. I'm guessing there's something in the middle that will work the best. Perhaps a suggested donation setup? I don't know, hit me up.

They’re heeerrrreee!! Finally, I got my act together and made this years batch of dead nettle balm! After setting aside some personal portions for myself and my pops, I have 10 4oz tins for sale! $12 each, pickup or delivery only.

I took the best of my concoctions from last season and made a formula that would be gentle enough to use often, for children to use, and versatile enough to treat many different skin ailments! is the main ingredient, followed by , and just a sprinkle of in and . This should be even more Mack daddy than the one from last year! I was better at picking prime flowering dead nettle and processing it. Improvement is so freaking awesome.

Meid a medicinal tea blend for my dad today. I focused in on two of his ailments: circulation and wound healing. For circulation I used oxidized mulberry leaf and yarrow. For wound healing, I combined self heal, stinging nettle and agrimony. To support these main herbs, I added lambs ear, coneflower, and elderflower. And because this blend has some bitter and latex qualities, I added Virginia mountain mint and bee balm, for flavor. I make custom blends for my own use all the time, hit me up if you’d like me to create one for you too.

Since the majority of you see my personal Facebook, I’m not gonna double spam ya about my mouth-romance spice blend creation. But I did want to put it out there, that if anyone has some custom requests, dietary restrictions, ect., I love that sort of thing, and I’m happy to fill them orders. Happy Winter Solstice Based Holidays, y’all!

Hey y’all. Just a “hi!” post. Still out here, making things. Less content then usual, cuz your gal is bu****le deep in herbalism books, trying to round out her knowledge and potentially skip intro to herbalism classes and jump into intermediate levels! A little reminder: I still have yarrow and comfrey oil, ready to be made into salves, I have a foraged za’atar spice blend available, a hot chili oil available, elderberry tincture, turkey tails, as well as various dried herbs that you can see in previous posts. Unfortunately all out of dead nettle balm until next spring, that one went fast/I gave some away as gifts. As always, hit me up if you are looking for anything customized.

Hand harvested, wild crafted elderberry tincture will be available soon! After doing a mountain of research on potency vs. toxicity, I decided that a tincture was the best way to maintain the healing capabilities of elderberry, instead of a heated treatment. Hit me up if you’re interested, and I’ll toss you a price. As always, I aim to be substantially cheaper than the cheapest source I can find. This is a service I want to offer friends, not a money maker.

Y’all know I’m a milkweed FAN in multiple ways. In the next week, I am foraging for native common milkweed seeds to distribute in my gardens and to give to others, so all may grow milkweed and feed themselves and our wonderful pollinator friends. Hit me up if you want some. For us and for them, this is a FREE thing. Super easy to cold stratify and plant, you literally chuck them into a sunny area at the end of summer through fall. Bam.

Holy hell. So, I just composted my 11x11 sq ft garden. Just me, a shovel, and countless trips to a huge compost pile. By the end of it, my back was yelling, my arms were burning, my b***y was sore and my hands blistered. I took a shower and slathered on my St. John’s Wort infused oil. It’s a few hours later, and I’m only a little sore, and my raised blisters have faded into mildly tender patches. I wouldn’t have believed it if it didn’t just happen. I only have a little bit to spare, $5/ounce.

What’s everyone’s pre and post work, anti-maskne skin routines? Before my long, sweaty ass serving or bartending shift, I wash my face and put on a light moisturizer (snail face cream) and a zit cream, no makeup. After work, I wash my face immediately, and put on my homemade St. John’s wort infused oil and more zit stuff. On off days, I use my homemade comfrey and yarrow salve. So far, face is mostly intact.

A really important lesson: Throughout this foraging process, I’ve been powered by panic. Panic about missing each plants growing season, about not harvesting enough for the year, about all the species I don’t know (yet). Each time, I’ve viciously thrown myself into learning, searching, harvesting, processing. Maybe it’s a rookie thing, but this theme of not having, not knowing, not doing, not being enough has been a huge thing in my life. In fact, it’s been one of the main issues my shrink and I have been working through. “Living in abundance” is what she calls it. A knowing, a faith that no matter what happens, one has the tools inside of and around them to have and be enough. I don’t take fantastically to talk therapy, but through that, and through the amazing experience of foraging, the lesson is finally beginning to take. I’ve been searching madly for ripe elderberries, but all I had to do was wait. And now I have more than enough.

I’ll be making syrup for my household for the year, and I’ll be opening up the excess for sale to y’all. But before anyone considers buying from me, consider buying from Lily Bee Elderberry and Organics. She did it first and she’s got the good goods.
